The B Corp and mission-driven space is constantly evolving. And trying to keep up can leave your head 😵‍💫spinning — especially when you're just starting out.

Which is why I'm going to just go ahead and do it for you!

🎙The Citizen Yard Tailgate, a weekly podcast that keeps you up to date on big changes in the purpose-led business space.

In this first episode I talk about B Lab’s response to the repeal of Roe v. Wade, why women’s healthcare is a universal business issue and how to navigate a post-Rose world as a business owner.

We also discuss B Lab's State of the 'B' address, the upcoming Champion's Retreat and more mission-driven news.

😅Keep in mind this is early days using a podcast format and it will be super scrappy at first. I’ll be experimenting and growing with it over the coming months. Things will progress!

Make a splash! It's World Ocean's Day!!!!🌊🦑🦈🐙🐳🐡

I absolutely love the sea. It's one of the place I'm happiest. So I'm spittin' the facts on why you should love it too💙

🧠 Its takes 1,000 years for water to complete one full journey around the world

🧠 The ocean is on average 12,100ft deep

🧠 The largest blue whale on record was 108ft in length, or the height of an 11-story building

🧠 28 major groups of animals live in the ocean, whereas only 11 live on land

🧠 Only 5% of the ocean floor has been mapped in detail

Writing a mission statement doesn't need to be hard 🥵
Just follow the mission statement framework.

We help {you target market} with {the problem/goal you solve}, by {the solution you provide} so that they can {audience's desired outcome}.

I don't know who needs to hear this today but being paid for your work as an impact driven business doesn't make you a sell out 🤑

Unless you're a nonprofit, your company won't survive unless you charge for your work. I feel like many small businesses are sometimes wary of entering the purpose and impact space because they feel obligated to lower their prices or otherwise risk being a sell out.

Nothing is further from the truth! We live in a world powered by the almighty dollar. This is a reality we can not avoid. Being profitable doesn't automatically make you greedy. Being profitable equips you with the means to better your business and the freedom to pursue better solutions for your customers' and the worlds' problems.
