Catching up on sharing some website projects!

I had the opportunity to work with a non-profit organization Fairfax County Crime Solvers this past spring to revamp their website from the ground up. I love a good full rebuild and redesign!

😍✨😍✨😍✨

For this one, Vanessa Capozzi from ieInteractive was the digital marketing genius and project manager, I was the designer and tech lead, and we worked closely with Crime Solvers team members to pull it all together.

The backend tools for the existing site were difficult to use. It was built on a proprietary platform from a webhost, and we knew that rebuilding everything on WordPress would give them better flexibility for growth.

The existing Fairfax website was disorganized and a bit messy, and it didn’t accurately reflect their mission and goals. After several years of just sticking stuff in random places because they needed to get it out there, the page structure & navigation was confusing for users. So we made that a priority for the early stages of the project!

From a strategy and website content perspective, they needed to reach 3 audiences:

🔍 Fairfax County residents - for tip generation & leads
🔍 Community supporters, donors, & media partners - for expanding reach & driving awareness
🔍 Collaborators like their local police department, volunteers, and board members - for executing the group’s mission

Vanessa’s team worked to gather insight and feedback from stakeholders at Crime Solvers Fairfax, built out the page structure and sitemap, and wrote brand new SEO-optimized content for all of the pages. I took all of that and custom-designed every page of the site using their refreshed visual brand.

The end result is a much more effective website, from visuals to an improved user experience!

‼️Information about submitting tips is front and center, with a direct link to their anonymous tip system.

💰There’s now an easily accessible section for claiming rewards for tips that lead to solving a crime.

🌱We added Integration with their donation platform for one-time gifts & event sponsorships.

🧐Users can read about how the organization got started, what the current mission is, and get information on the leadership team.

🗓️There is an events calendar to expand community awareness & participation.

📣They now have an active blog & news section for sharing success stories and other relevant articles.

✨It’s all wrapped in a refreshed & modern design with impactful visuals, a super-strategically organized page structure, and improved management tools for the volunteer team.

New website launch alert! 🎉

This project was a collaboration with Vanessa Capozzi at ieInteractive, where I served as the website consultant for design and development (and a little bit of strategy support as well!) I love working with teams in this way, where we’re all contributing our own expertise and perspective.

Studio Kids Early Learning Center, a childcare facility in Harrisburg, PA, had a very outdated site, with incorrect information and leftover content pieces from when they had more than one location. Not only did they need some brand visibility clean up, they wanted a fresh design and content overhaul for their website. The goal was to do a better job at providing prospective families with the information they are looking for when choosing a daycare and preschool for their kids.

🌟 WHAT WE DID

The design was super fun to create! It’s colorful and bright, relaxed without being too child-like (we’re talking to parents here, not the kids, after all!) It features high quality photos of their childcare rooms along with some dynamic visual effects and graphical icons.

But the content is where the changes really have an impact. The pages on the site were reorganized and expanded to include details about enrollment, pricing, daily schedules, and curriculum. The homepage features a 360° virtual tour of the facility, plus parent testimonials about their experience at Studio Kids. Website visitors can read about the staff and meet the director. We also included a language translation tool to make the website more accessible for Spanish-speaking visitors.

Ultimately the goal is to encourage visitors to schedule an in-person tour so they can see all the fantastic things Studio Kids has to offer families before they enroll.

For online visibility, ieInteractive’s focus was reviewing the facility’s current online reputation. They updated their public business profiles for better local visibility, analyzed competitors' performance, and implemented numerous changes across the board to help the facility get found by people in Harrisburg who are looking for childcare options.

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Working with ieInteractive and Studio Kids on this new website was such a delight! Now that the site is live, it’s already gaining traction in search visibility and targeted website traffic. And when those families land on the new website, it will be easy for them to make the choice to enroll at Studio Kids Learning Center!

Purchasing an existing business can be exciting, but it also comes with some questions:

🤔How can we build on what the previous owners created, while making it our own?

🤔What changes do we need to make to our core offers, our branding, and our overall marketing plan?

🤔Who can we partner with to help us do it all?

The new owners of Warm Timber Wine Cellars & Saunas wanted to widen the focus from home & mobile saunas to custom wine storage. Their vision was to expand their service area and become 🌟THE🌟 go-to for luxury wine cellars and premium saunas in homes and commercial spaces.

🍷WHAT THEY NEEDED

The primary goals for the new Warm Timber website focused on establishing their visual branding while providing inspiration and details about their services. They wanted to get found in search and encourage potential customers to book a free consultation about their project.

🍷WHAT WE DID

The website design is centered around beautiful photos of wine cellars and saunas to get visitors excited about the possibilities! We also include a full gallery of real-life completed projects to see how other customers’ visions were brought to life.

Additional pages with frequently asked questions, background information about the health benefits of saunas, plus details about their Mobile Sauna and Cold Plunge offerings help ensure that website visitors have all the information they need to take that next step and reach out to book a consultation.

🍷WHAT THE CLIENT SAID

🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰
"It looks AWESOME! The website has been a crucial addition to our business this year and we have been very pleased with its impact."

As a former PTO parent who managed the website and communications for nearly a decade at my kids’ elementary schools, I’m very familiar with the communication struggles of a school volunteer organization. Social media and email marketing are powerful tools, but nothing beats a website where you have a permanent place for things, without fighting with algorithms and spam folders 😫

WHAT THEY NEEDED
The Central Valley PTA’s needs were simple: a stable, easy to update and manage website that kept their volunteers informed of everything happening at their kids’ schools. So that’s what we built!

WHAT WE DID
We reorganized all of the content and designed a simple interface to help visitors find what they were looking for. We built a Membership Signup form, including options for online payment of dues. I migrated their existing Spirit Wear shop to the new site, fixed a few known issues, and improved the overall user experience for shopping and checkout.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Another important goal was a site that allowed their internal volunteers to keep the site updated on a regular basis without needing to reach out to me. I absolutely love when my clients want to take ownership of their site! So I provided them with all the information and instructions they needed, but they also know they can come to me anytime if there’s an issue or they need more support.

Since the site launched in February, Central Valley PTA has had dozens of sales through their new shop and has connected eager parents with volunteer opportunities in their child' s classroom.

Initial feedback from Cassy, the PTA president:

💬
“I'm already getting such good feedback! People know where to find the things they're looking for and the answers they need. Jen is knowledgeable, kind, patient and available. Her work speaks for itself and I hope to rely on her talent and expertise again in the future!”

It's mid-way through the first real week of 2026... vibe check?! Everyone good? 😜

I'm a numbers & data girl, so a few years ago I started a 'look back' infographic to help me zoom out a bit and reflect on the past year as each new one begins.

So here we go! 🎉

2025 was not the best year in my business (I don't think I'm alone in that...!) but it certainly wasn't the worst, or the hardest.

There have been so many bright spots!

I established partnerships with some new, incredibly smart and talented service providers 😍

I launched a couple of websites I'm super proud of! (visit my portfolio for a peek at some of those: https://inksplashdesigns.net/website-portfolio)

I've also done some internal work on my systems and the services I'm offering, which I think (hope?!) will pay off big in 2026.

Here's my official 2025 'Year in Review' infographic! (if you need to zoom in: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11jK7fVRUuVf8WkqhinDdhAmTzs0y_5Uk/view?usp=sharing)
