Chantelle Davis-Gray Website, branding & card deck designer for small businesses trying to make their mark on the world

Let’s talk about the cost of having an outdated website.

Outdated website = you’re squeamish to share it.

If you’re not sharing your website, if you’re not sharing how people can find more about you & your work... you’re making it harder for people.

And in this busy busy world where we’re all just doing our best, that’s not what you want. You’re big hearted and you don’t want to be making things harder for anyone — especially your aligned clients. You want to do everything you can to help them.
So you need a website you can proudly share. You need a website that you can trust to be providing current, accurate information about your offerings, about how you work with people, and makes it easy for them to connect to you.

I can make that website for you. Let’s chat.

Should I let AI build a website for my business?

This is a question I’ve been hearing a lot!

Short answer: Not if you ask me.

Why?

If you are a wellness practitioner, coach or healer, I’m sure you know that your digital space must feel human-centered and authentic to build trust with potential clients.

In a world where AI is generating a rapidly growing portion of the internet, communicating your one-of-a-kind personality online makes you memorable; AI-generated websites fall short.

No matter how much of your life and business you've been sharing with it, these bots can't understand your ideal clients or the nuances of emotion like a human can. The generic words and visuals that AI site builders rely on often fall flat when trying to connect with your aligned audience.

You bring a unique perspective to the work you do & I bring the expertise of how to create a custom design that truly reflects your brand & business.

AI-generated websites and generic templates don’t allow your one-of-a-kind brand personality to come through.

So I don’t use them. Every site is built custom.

From the very first time we chat on your free strategy session, we’ll be talking about specifics — to you, your business, your needs, your clients.

Before you click that 'magic' button, it’s important to understand what you’re getting -- and what you’re losing when it comes to the AI vs. Human Approach.

And no, I don't use generative AI in my design process either!

Things I don’t do as a website & brand designer...On purpose.

Swipe through to get the details on each one.

💻 I don’t expect my clients to know how to do the tech stuff.

You tell me what you want your website to do for you and I tackle the behind-the-scenes set up!

Including things like pointing DNS records, integrating platforms like Acuity, Calendly, MailChimp, FloDesk. I’ll create professional email accounts, get your scheduler sorted, set up a payment processor if needed, etc.

Your website is the online hub of your business and should work flawlessly for you behind the scenes — all day, every day!

🤖 I don’t use generative AI.

You bring a unique perspective to the work you do. I bring the expertise of how to create a custom design that truly reflects your brand & business, which is not possible with AI or generic templates. So I don’t use them.

Every site is bespoke. From the very first time we chat on your free strategy session, we’ll be talking about specifics — to you, your business, your needs, your clients. And I’ll recommend what I think will help your business bloom.

🏁 I don’t believe your website launch is the finish line.

Your website launch is just the beginning! I like to think of it as living, growing and evolving – just like you and your business.

I’ll provide marketing suggestions to help you get ready to share your new website with the world, including standard SEO practices in each robust website package, and connect it to Google Search Console.

Plus, I’ll remind you to update it regularly.

🔑 I don’t keep the keys to your website (I want you to have access!!)

One of the reasons I exclusively design websites on Squarespace is because of how intuitive it is and user-friendly for making updates.

I provide a Learning Lounge of training videos, so you’ll be empowered to make edits & additions yourself if you want to. However, if you just have no interest in doing that, I offer ongoing support packages for my clients.

📝 I don’t write your website copy.

It’s just not my jam!

However, I do supply prompts to get you started, and will read what you provide and give feedback. I also have a small circle of amazing copywriters

Sometimes you have to “try the new thing” before you appreciate what already worked.

Like, when you have a hairstylist you love, but at some point you get the itch to try something new. You want a new look to reflect a different season of your life or just want to explore a different experience. So you go to a different stylist. It might be great for a bit…

And then you get a wakeup call of why you loved your original stylist in the first place.

That sometimes happens with web design too!

Maybe a marketing bro got in your ear, shiny object syndrome hit, or you just needed to experiment.

Either way — no judgement.

It's an honor when someone returns to me for the next iteration of their business website.

If *your* website isn't reflecting your current biz, your personality or how you actually work, I’ve got you!

What's the point of having your own website?

Investing in a quality website helps your small business win by:

1. Offering your audience a fully branded one-stop shop
2. Demonstrating your authority and thought leadership
3. Helping you engage your ideal customers in a more meaningful way
4. Simplifying your tech stack and your life
5. Improving your SEO/AIO

Been dreaming about making your own card deck for your business to grow your income & impact?

When you’re inspired to create your own card deck it’s sooo tempting to hop onto Canva and start going down the design rabbit hole. It makes sense – playing around with color and pulling graphics is FUN

But before you get any further, I urge you to pause because…

Designing a card deck is a lot like tackling a kitchen renovation. It’s easy to get caught up in the fixtures and finishes, but if you don’t put in the time before you get started – measuring, planning, and really thinking about how you use your space – you’re going to end up tearing your hair out later. Not to mention spending more time, money and energy than is necessary!

When you do the right prep, the fun part of designing your deck will actually BE fun. Beyond that, your end product will be more effective at reaching your desired audience and helping them get the most out of your work.

That’s why I created a free checklist of what you’ll prep before the design phase so that you can design your deck once – and design your deck well!

Can you relate?

My amazing client had a tech mess. She was paying for multiple services, but she didn't know what each thing was actually doing. And while she wanted to simplify, she was afraid to cancel any of them because she didn't want to break anything!

Thankfully, she came to me and shared what was on her mind!

So I sorted it out for her. I connected only the things she needed and ensured they were working properly. I advised what she could cancel, saving her a few hundred dollars a year.

Fewer pieces, working more efficiently, and putting money back in her pocket — win win!

But I get it, it can be hard when you feel like you should know things or are just overwhelmed with where to start when it comes to the backend of your website and tech platforms.

If you're feeling embarrassed or avoiding even looking into your tech systems... reach out. You don’t have to know what to say, I’ll ask you questions and we’ll get to the bottom of what you need to simplify your tech (and likely save you some money in the process!)
