he skill to evoke the passion and emotion that go along with your memories, everytime you look at them! I am currently the lead photographer at Backdropz Photography in Riverton, Utah, and have been doing portrait photography for 9 years. Even for "natural light" photographers, the skills learned in a studio on how to manipulate light to not only capture your subject, but capture them in the best, most flattering way. I studied Photography and Graphic Design at Utah Valley University. Before choosing an art field, my first focus was neo-natal nursing. Many of the techniques taught to calm, and sooth newborns directly transfer to helping take perfect newborn photos! I am the 3rd of 9 children, and the uncle to 10 nieces and nephews, all of which provides me with multitudes of experience with all ranges of children, and large families. One of my favorite age ranges to photograph, are toddlers and young kids, age 3-7. While others see them as a hassle, their energy and passion for life and fun are amazing to catch! Growing up in a large family, money was always tight. I believe great photography shouldn't just be available to the wealthy, but should be affordable to everyone. Many photographers add on extra fees for extra editing time, digital copies, or photo releases. I like to keep things simple. Every session comes with ALL the images, edited, on a thumb drive, and online, and the release to use YOUR photos how you choose! I am often asked "Why are you prices so low? Are you just starting out? Are you a new photographer? Are you inexperienced?"
The answer is more complicated than a simple NO. I was raised in a poor family, and we rarely had our family portraits done. In fact, the last portrait we had done all together, was about 1992. Since then, we have all gone our separate ways, and those moments are past, and can no longer be captured. The only pictures I have of myself, as well as my siblings, are school pictures. While those document passing grades, it shows nothing of individual developing personality. I know what its like to be starting out as a new family, trying to find affordable photographers for engagements, bridals, weddings, newborns, and child photography. My prices are affordable because i believe every newly engaged couple should have amazing pictures without having to take out a loan. My prices are affordable because i believe every family should be photographed at least once a year, without having to scrimp, save and sacrifice
My prices are affordable because i believe children should be photographed at LEAST yearly to show personality development as well as age. They should be allowed to have chrismas pictures with santa, as well as birthday pictures, halloween pictures, etc.. Future families should be able to see what their parents, and grand parents looked like and WERE like when they were young. In short- People DESERVE to have professional photography at affordable rates.
