Your team probably doesn't have an idea problem.

You have ideas in meetings. Ideas from sales. Ideas from competitors. And now AI can give you 100 more before lunch.

The harder question is: Which ones actually matter?

Good strategy isn't about doing everything you could do. It's deciding what deserves your attention now.

What's one thing your team could stop doing to make more room for what matters?

Could AI figure out what your business actually does?

Try this quick test.

Look at your website and ask:

👉 What do we offer?
👉 Who do we help?
👉 What makes us different?
👉 What should someone do next?

If the answers aren't clear to a person, they're probably not clear to AI either.

As more people use AI to research companies and compare their options, vague website copy like “innovative solutions” and “exceptional service” isn't enough.

Your website needs to give people—and AI—something useful to work with.

Put your website to the test. Can someone unfamiliar with your business answer those four questions?

In the fall, our team made a pivot. We knew where we wanted to go, we had a focused plan, and we felt aligned.

Then the day-to-day crept in.

“What about this?”
“Should we do this too?”

All valid things. But every yes pulled us a little further away from what we said mattered most.

We had to get comfortable saying:

“That’s important. But not right now.”

AI can create the same problem. It gives us more ideas, more data, more options and more things we *could* be doing.

But more isn’t always better.

The teams that get the most from AI won’t be the ones doing the most. They’ll be the ones who know what matters and use AI to help them stay focused on it.

What are you saying yes to that’s pulling you away from your priorities?

Here's your 5-minute marketing assignment for today: Fill out your own website contact form.

Seriously.

Pull up your website on your phone and pretend you're a potential customer.

Was the form easy to find?

Was it easy to complete?

Did you know what would happen after you submitted it?

Did you get a confirmation?

And here's the big one...

Did the right person on your team actually receive the lead?

We spend a lot of time trying to get more people to our websites. But sometimes the bigger opportunity is fixing what happens once they get there.

Try it today. If you find something broken, confusing or surprising, tell us what you found.

The first answer is rarely the whole answer.

Sometimes, the question your team needs most is the one that challenges an assumption, uncovers the real problem, or takes the conversation one layer deeper.

In our latest article, Strategy Coordinator, Kaitlin Parsons shares what she learned from watching one of our strategists dig beneath the surface, and why great strategy starts with great questions.

Could better questions change your team’s direction?

Your website isn’t a “set it and forget it” tool.

Your team changes. Your services evolve. And sometimes, small details get missed.

One easy place to start? Audit your website forms.

Ask yourself:

* Are we asking the right questions?
* Is the form quick and easy to complete?
* Does it work well on mobile?
* Are responses going to the right person?

It only takes a few minutes to test, but those few minutes could uncover a gap that’s costing you leads.

For more practical tips and ideas, read more News & Insights on our site: www.onetablestrategy.com/news

And if a quick audit brings up bigger questions about your website, let’s talk.

SEO isn’t dead. But the way people search is changing.

As AI becomes a bigger part of how buyers find answers, businesses need to think beyond simply ranking on Google. SEO and GEO work together to help your business get found, understood, and recommended.

So, is your business ready for the new way people search?

Thriving with AI isn’t about using more tools, it’s about knowing where they can actually create value.

Steve shares a great perspective on why clarity and discipline need to come before AI adoption. Without them, AI may just amplify the confusion that’s already there.

How clear is your team on the problems you actually want AI to solve? 👇

AI can generate a lot of content quickly. But good marketing content still takes strategy and a strong writer who knows the right questions to ask.

It’s easy to see why some are tempted to use AI. When your to-do list is long, getting a draft back in seconds can feel like a huge relief. Review it, hit send, and move on to the next thing. But that’s also where the risk comes in. Writing that looks clean and professional at first glance may not actually be good writing.

The thinking behind a draft matters. What does the audience need to know? What are we really trying to say? And how does this support what the business is trying to accomplish?

Answers to these questions shape the message. They also help ensure the content fits the larger marketing strategy and sounds like the company, rather than something that could have been written for anyone.

You may already be noticing more articles, social posts, emails and website copy starting to sound the same. As more businesses use AI, those generic patterns will become harder to miss. The result may be a lot of word salad that looks impressive but can make it difficult to distinguish one company from the next.

The real problem is what that can mean for a business. AI can produce bad writing that does little to move the business forward or, worse, weakens the brand and muddies the message.

At OneTable Strategy, our writers start with the business objectives, the audience and the message, then use AI where it can make the work stronger. It’s a tool, not a replacement for writers or the creative thinking that makes marketing content effective.

Before asking how you can use AI to save time, ask a better question:

Who is making sure the content supports the business and is actually worth reading?

Good writing still needs a human behind it. Someone who understands its purpose and knows how to shape the message in a way that resonates with the right audience.

If your AI-assisted content is starting to feel generic, or you’re not sure it’s supporting your marketing goals, reach out. I can help you strengthen the process and your message. [email protected]
