It has been a while since I have posted this link and updated everyone on my sister's condition. She has been responding well to her treatment and has gone through the normal ups and downs that come along with it. Shoutout to those who did their best to prepare us for what comes along with chemotherapy. She had her CT scan last week and we got really good news, the main tumor shrunk by 3cms, and the ones in her lungs shrunk as well. They were also concerned that she would need a hip replacement from the damage caused by the tumor, but now the doctors are leaning towards that it'll heal itself over time. The family is in high spirits with this news. Now a bit of some major news to go along with this. To give Jackie the best fighting chance we have decided to move to Washington State so she can be closer to her doctor in Seattle who specializes in Sarcoma. Her doctors here agree with us that this is a good decision since it will allow her to participate in clinical trials unavailable to her in Hawaii. We have given ourselves 3 months to make this happen, which isn't exactly a lot of time when it comes to moving, but as military brats, it is something we are quite used to. I appreciate all of the connections we have made in Hawaii and its pains us to have to leave so many wonderful people, but it will never truly be goodbye. Thank you all for your love and support, it really does mean the world to us. Saina ma’å’se’ and Mahalo.
