I hope everyone who celebrated Motherā€™s Day yesterday had a beautiful day.

Last year, mine was a little quieterā€”my mom had passed just a few weeks before, and grief was still ripping holes in everything.

I planted trees for her last year. This year, I pulled plastic from the ocean in her honor.

Every act of healingā€”whether for the Earth or my own heartā€”is a love letter to her. A reminder that she mattered. That she still matters.

We miss you, Ma.

Wow! I know itā€™s been a minute since Iā€™ve shared anything here, and Iā€™m truly sorry for the silence.

As many of you know, my life has been a bit of a whirlwind lately. Losing my mom turned my world upside down in ways I never imagined. She and I didnā€™t always see eye to eye, but she was still my mom, and losing her was incredibly hard. And to make things even more complicated, her landlord decided to bulldoze the house where my family had lived for over 30 years. It was heartbreaking, and my family and I suddenly found ourselves without a home.

For a few months, we were in survival mode, just trying to find our footing again. Slowly but surely, though, weā€™re rebuilding. And Iā€™m excited to share a bit of good news amidst it all: just before my mom passed, I was getting ready to publish my book. Today, itā€™s somehow managed to reach #1 in three categories on Amazon and hit #351 in the entire Kindle Store! Itā€™s surreal, and I know sheā€™d be proud.

Thank you for sticking with me and supporting this journeyā€”especially through the ups and downs. I canā€™t wait to share more soon.
