New work for our fellow elephant lovers at ❤️🐘

We helped this new coffee company say “Jambo!” (“Hello” in Swahili) with some packaging design and flexible label collection that will allow them to expand as new blends come along from their amazing smallholder farmer partners in Kenya. And a bonus: Jambo Java gives back to the landscapes and community that makes the coffee possible, and proudly supports the in their rehabilitation and rescue efforts to give orphaned elephants a second chance at life.

It’s early 1999. You’re in your friend’s basement coming up with the perfect screen name on their family’s orange iMac. You dream about dancing to “All My Life” by K-Ci & JoJo with your crush at the 8th grade dance. You won’t drink coffee for over a decade because you have the energy of a young teenager 😂

Thank you for letting this elder millennial fever dream come to life! Now I can drink this to tap into that energy and nostalgia again!

All the 80s/90s goodness + sassy dog feels wrapped up in a coffee bag. My millennial, Nickelodeon & Saved by the Bell-loving heart is happy. We formally dedicate this packaging design for our pals to Porkchop, Doug’s dog from Doug, and regret to inform you that the total bop called “Doggie Rap” from that cartoon is *not* available on Instagram. A travesty.

Fun fact: Tiny Bold and Stanley the Studio Dog share a birthday! (Or at least that’s what his shelter guesses his birthday is, so we roll with it.) Yesterday we celebrated 13 years as a studio, with Stan being employee of the year for all 9 of his years on earth. (And that’s about 56 in dog years, so he’s pretty dedicated!) As a design studio who happens to work with a lot of dog-related brands, we had to honor our furry friend with a new custom portrait!

Thank you to all the amazing human team members who helped us get to 13 years with your skill and friendship, and the fantastic clients who keep us busy and inspire us every day!

When launched Edgewater Bookstore this fall, it was with the goal of having a highly curated collection of books - all meant to make you read slowly, take notes, and apply the ideas. And what goes great with a book? Coffee, of course! We love our client Eddy for jumping in with our concept of designing the coffee packaging as if we were actually designing book covers; his perfectly titled blends (Anthology, Prose, Plot Twist, and Deep Read) all touch on a book genre or play on reading in general. Each “book” of coffee had a unique book cover designed to evoke the subject, left panel as a spine, right panel as pages, and a back cover that described the flavors you were about to enjoy, all connected by the “publishers logo” (aka the Edgewater icon) and brand color palette.

We hope to see these on your bookshelves or kitchen shelves - and grab a book, too!

Happy launch weekend to 🎉

It’s official: we’re addicted. You know the feeling when your client hands you their product - especially a type of food - and you *really* hope you like it? Our sample bags of Krackish disappeared in a matter of minutes, and it’s safe to say we more than like it. We *like* like it. We love it. It is SO GOOD, you guys.

We had the pleasure of designing the visual brand for Krackish Snack Co. - a new company offering delicious snack mixes that feel familiar with a new twist: think chex mix with the flavor turned up a million percent and inspired by different cultures. From logo and color palette, to custom illustrations and package design, we wanted to evoke a feeling of informal, fun, modern, and interesting. Starting off with three flavors, we created a packaging system that embraces the kraken mascot (cannot wait to share how this will expand over time!), and color to differentiate between flavors, with custom illustrations highlighting the mix components on the back. Now don’t mind us while we dust crumbs off the keyboard…

Full case study coming soon but here’s a glimpse at the first three flavors! Go buy some before they sell out (80% of their first inventory was sold in 24 hours!!!)
