El Secretario de Salud de Puerto Rico el Dr. Eduardo Suárez no está de acuerdo con la nueva reforma de salud que el Gobernador le impone al país y es obligado a renunciar a su puesto. Su familia igual se enfrenta a tiempos difíciles pues su esposa de hace treinta y tantos años y con quien tiene seis hijos, ha sido diagnosticada con Alzheimer. Eduardo se enfrenta a dos crisis una de país y una en su hogar. Como siempre pasa, en cuestión de unos años, la enfermedad se apodera por completo de su esposa. La familia hace lo que puede para enfrentar y aceptar el dolor de ver a su querida madre desaparecer poco a poco. Eduardo comienza una nueva relación amorosa que parece le devuelve las ganas de vivir. Ernesto, el más joven de los seis hijos, no está de acuerdo y se opone a la nueva relación al punto que es capas de dividir a la familia en el momento más difícil de sus vidas.
