Pomegranate jewel reds, shady bush trail greens, day at the beach blues – summer palettes are officially in!

As the year wraps up, I want to say a huge thanks to my wonderful clients and fellow creatives — you’ve made this year a goodie!

I’ve been working with Canterbury-based Moffatt’s Flower Company for over a decade 💫.

Each week I create stock forms showcasing available product for their network of retailers. 🌹💐🌻

The forms include pricing updates, good product photography, product specials and ordering information. I package all this info into 1 easy-to-use interactive PDF form that the Retailer fills out, then returns to Moffatt’s via email.

This streamlines the ordering process for both Moffatt’s and their retail clients.🌟

If you live over yonder near the green rolling Waikato hills of Te Kauwhata, and your garden and property is getting you down, I know just the guy for you! 🍃

Everybody knows Rob – he’s a community kinda guy – and he loves nothing more than a perfectly manicured lawn and a well-maintained property.

When Rob came to me, his logo design brief was clear – he wanted to reflect his connection to the wider community, capture his friendly but professional service, be easily identifiable, and set himself apart from all the lawn mowing franchises that mill around in a nondescript field of green.

Rob is well known for wearing the colour red, so I developed a colour palette around this which works to boldly differentiate him from the competition. ( And just happens to echo the colours of his favourite football club Chelsea 😉 )

The logotype uses distinctive block letterforms to create a memorable logo that feels solid and reliable. This nests alongside an icon-based illustration which showcases the wide range of services Rob offers, and conveys a friendly neighbourhood vibe.

The individual icons from the illustration can be used across his website, advertising and social media to clearly highlight his business offerings.

And with full colour & single colour logos included as part of my Logo Design package, Rob now has some solid brand assets to get him started on his new business journey. ⭐️

// Two Spotty Dogs 🐕🐕

Earlier this year I was hired by the lovely Kelcey Radford to design a logo for her newish Event Management business based in Wānaka, NZ.

Named after her two German short-haired pointer cross doggos, the business logo needed to capture that originality & fun energy but not be cliché, while also feeling reliable & trustworthy. Tricky!

My solution was to create a minimalist streamlined illustration of the dogs which feels orderly, directional & calm - qualities Kelcey brings to her work, managing the bigger picture while maintaining tenacious attention to detail when planning meaningful events.

Back in 2023, just as the leaves were starting to turn 🍁 and the days were getting longer, I was lucky to be hired by award-winning designer Gabriela of Heda Landscape Design. 🌳🪨
~
Strongly influenced by the women before her, the name of Gabriela’s company is a nod to her grandmother Heda, an amazing plantswoman and creative soul who had a strong presence in her childhood.
~
As a Czech native, Gabriela brings European design flair to her work. I wanted to capture her cool Euro vibe so designed a logo marque that felt balanced and refined, honing the ‘D’ + ‘a’ letter forms creating a powerful symmetry, then used this same style to create a scandi-feel leaf icon.
~
These elements were then reworked into a badge and icon that is used throughout the brand collateral.
