Took N to the AAA Cariboo Cougars Spring ID Camp and we connected with who hooked him up with some sweet gear!

It’s been an awesome weekend — some of the hardest working kids I’ve ever seen and they all helped N feel welcome and supported. He only just finished his third ever season in hockey prior to this, and he’s thrilled at all the things he’s learning from these kids at this camp.

Proud of him for being brave and showing up here, putting in the effort to learn and grow, while remembering to have fun, in honour of his best friend.

My kiddo is deeply impacted by the loss of his good friend, Ezekiel.

I made him some jersey number stickers for his helmet and he added an E in stick tape to his stick.

Another close friend of Ezekiel’s is mourning the absence of him on the ice. Trying to think of other ways they can bring a piece of his spirit, joy, with them when they step out in the arena.

A GoFundMe has been setup for Ezekiel’s family and can be found on the website.

The Johnny Malcolm Foundation, a local Tumbler Ridge nonprofit helping kids access sports in the community, is updating their page with links to relevant fundraisers for the community. They are verified fundraisers.

Please be mindful when reading the descriptions in some of the fundraisers. There is a lot of pain and it can show up in the language folks use, not to mention there are sometimes details about what the kids are experiencing or went through.

Super proud of my kiddo and her teammates! They were short-benched the whole tournament (played more than half their games with 9 skaters and 1 goalie) and put up an impressive performance to win all 4 games of the tournament!

Great job, and thank you PGMHA and your crew for hosting!

Quick little birthday card for my youngest kiddo, made in less than an hour.

I can tell that at least one of the kids has an eye for composition since I was told I should have made the top of the 9 a rainbow since it’s visible above the clouds from the front of the card 😂

In my defence, I was thinking about favourite colours, and less about overall composition. But I might have to take a crack at an altered version sometime.

Last week’s full moon was up in the morning when I left town, and still up or maybe up again in the evening on the way home.

This winter has been hard and I feel like time is slipping through cracks. These moments of small thrills and wonders help keep the despair at bay.

Upcycled a leather jacket into a softcover for a hand bound reading journal. Created “book plate” stickers, two reading themed sticker sheets, and (not pictured) engraved a tumbler with a matching design.

These items are being donated to a raffle basket for a hockey tournament. If you’re local, be sure to check out the U9 tournament this weekend in town.

Lots of raffle baskets, 50/50 draws, and of course, hockey!
