Exciting new opening for Cornerstone Hospitality in North Carolina.
RIBBON CUTTING: The newest hotel in Jacksonville, North Carolina My Place Hotel Opens
Cornerstone Hospitality, LLC opens the My Place Hotel in Jacksonville, North Carolina, with the official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event in conjunction with the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
The My Place Hotel is one of the newer brands of hotels and focuses on the short-stay and extended stay hotel traveler. Equipped with in room kitchens, guest laundry, a barbeque pavilion, My Store and other onsite activities for guests to enjoy, it is the perfect property for those working in the area, military travelers, those visiting family and Camp Lejeune and is pet-friendly.
“I grew up in Jacksonville and I’ve watched this market grow substantially and Camp Lejeune grow exponentially over the last several decades,” said Kimberly Christner, partner in the project and President of Cornerstone Hospitality. “We purchased this land about 10 years ago and have been patiently waiting for the right time and the right hotel product. The My Place Hotel is a good fit as it can serve corporate, leisure and military travelers at a more reasonable price-point than the traditional branded hotels with the same amenities.”
The eighty-five room property is located at 401 Northwest Circle just off of Western Boulevard and started construction in the spring of 2022.
“This is only the second My Place Hotel in North Carolina. We opened the first My Place Hotel in Virginia in 2020,” said Craig Larson, partner in the project of Chief Operating Officer for Cornerstone Hospitality. “The property has been hugely successful and won the Inn of the Year award for the brand in 2022. Based on that property’s performance in a military market our partnership team felt strongly that the product delivers on the amenities that short-stay and extended stay guests are looking for whether they are traveling for fun, business or for the military. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.”
Cornerstone Hospitality tapped local hotelier and former marine Rusty Wilson to lead the property as the General Manager. “We really are fortunate to have secured Rusty as our property leader. As the daughter of a career military man, it was important to me that we hire local and when possible, hire former military and military family members. Rusty has put together a stellar team.”
