The Domain Purge incentivizes collaboration between talented developers and entrepreneurs from local ecosystems and area Higher Education Institutions to create new ventures with high value domains through a weekend hackathon. We’ve partnered with some heavy hitting domain owners and built a flow to keep a great mix of local talent on track. Attendees can add their own unused domains to the list and teams can pick from the set of available domains or whatever domains they chose. After the event has concluded, each Team has 3 months to build out the domainname and prove their business model... at the end of those 3 months they have the option to buy the domain name at the pre-agreed upon price, financed over 24 months. Part of the secret sauce of Domain Purge is having enough structure to build Flow, while also letting teams, concepts, and learning develop organically.
