This cover was a tricky balance to get right. Enough menace to honour the topic, but not too much that people were put off(!) I’ve always enjoyed the interaction between image and type, and this cover ticks that box for sure... but I still hate snakes 🐍

As a designer you never really switch off from work. I’m forever seeing fonts I love, colour palettes that are super pleasing on the eye... it’s a constant flow of visual stimulation and appreciation of beautiful things! 🙈🙌🏼
So when I’m designing a cover that gets me excited - and the ideas are flowing thick and fast - I often get a little burst of creativity just before going to sleep at night. I just have to pray that my squiggles make sense to me the following morning!
This was one of those covers, and I’m so pleased with the final result.

In one way you’re thrilled to have delivered another project on schedule, with a happy client and author. On the other hand you’re releasing your work to the big wide world out there, and you hope it succeeds and lands with people the way you dream it will.
