I have been busy carving some Lino stamps ready for my “Let’s Go For Drinks” print.
Thankfully I am right handed because I accidentally chopped the top off my left thumb! 🤦‍♀️
Not carving but cooking dinner,, lesson learned - stick to carving and not cooking!

It’s a beautiful and calm morning here in Portscatho today.
So I’ve taken the tools and cuppa outside for a bit of carving in the garden.
And the sun is keeping the Lino block nice and warm for me! ☀️🙌
When using a traditional hessian backed linoleum, it’s important to warm it slightly before you start carving. This soften the linseed surface making it easier to carve.
Normally I achieve this by sitting on it or putting it in the microwave for 5 seconds…

Did someone say kitchen disco??
These days it’s one of my favourite hangouts,,,
I don’t have to pay for a taxi home!
They play all my favourite songs!
And I don’t get thrown out for wearing my PJs!

Back to the 90s!
This is one of the prints from my nostalgic 90s series prints.
I generally think most people’s favourite decade is the one they grew up in and the memories that it brings.
And I do find myself now saying the words “those were the good old days”
I just hope the kids today feel the same about their growing up decade when they are all grown up!

We explored different ways of mono printing and line printing, producing some fantastic one off prints along the way.
