Since 2001, PR Worx has been in rooms most people never see.

Boardrooms. Crisis war rooms. Government offices. Luxury homes. Backstage green rooms. Attorney boardrooms. And the occasional room where everyone was pretending not to panic.

Over the past 25 years, we've worked with captains of industry, controversial CEOs, politicians, celebrities, business moguls, activists, public figures and brands that sometimes found themselves on the front page for all the wrong reasons.

Some arrived with thriving reputations.
Some arrived carrying reputational baggage so heavy it needed its own seat at the table.

We've helped build brands. Protect reputations. Restore trust. Navigate scandals. Survive headlines. And sometimes rebuild public confidence when nobody else wanted to take the call.

As PR Worx celebrates 25 years, I'm opening the floor.

Ask me anything.
* The biggest crisis.
* The toughest client.
* The hardest lesson.
* The wildest media moment.
* The business mistakes.
* The wins nobody saw coming.

No scripts. No rehearsed answers. No spin.

Ask me the question nobody else will.
If the NDA allows it, I'll answer it publicly.

PR Worx has been around for almost 25 years, which in agency years is roughly 143 - depending on the crises, launches, Sunday media calls and "can we just quickly approve this?" messages involved. 😜

But longevity is not the flex people think it is.

Brands disappear when they speak to a world that no longer exists. Agencies become irrelevant when they confuse muscle memory with strategy.

We refuse.

PR Worx is still here because we have not been doing the same thing for 25 years.

We've evolved from traditional media relations into integrated communications, crisis counsel, digital storytelling, executive visibility, social strategy, thought leadership, innovative content, and reputation work that makes a real difference.

The tools and platforms changed. The pace shifted from fast to feral. AI arrived, declared itself fluent in everything, and immediately started writing press releases that, well, sound like press releases written by AI.

But the work still comes down to something beautifully human: TRUST.

So yes, we are proud of two and a half decades.

But we are far more proud that we still ask better questions, challenge lazy thinking, move quickly, deliver relevant work, and find smarter solutions.

Because experience matters.
But results matter more. 👑

I have built up quite a loyal following for my daily Instagram stories.

The truth? It has never just been about the clothes.

For me, it's about showing up properly for the life I am living, the people I am leading and the opportunities I haven't even met yet.

From Monday to Thursday, you will usually find me suited up or in a polished professional outfit. PR Worx is not a casual agency, and the way I arrive each day reflects the standard I hold myself, my team and my business to.

Fridays are a little more relaxed - usually jeans, boots and a blazer. Still smart, always intentional and very much me.

Saturdays are for sports fields, teenage boys, muddy boots and being the stylish rugby mom cheering from the sidelines. Sundays can be church, lunch with family, proper downtime or one of our slightly ridiculous family competitions - like splitting into teams, heading off to thrift for antique lamps or quirky accessories, and giving everyone a strict budget.

It's a load of fun, but it's also how we teach our children creativity, confidence, resourcefulness, family values and the life lesson that style, like character, is not about how much money you spend. It's about how well you know yourself.

When I attend Mrs South Africa events, I may be in designer pieces one day and Shein or Temu the next. I dress for the occasion, for my mood, for the message and for the woman I am choosing to be in that moment.

Because here is what I believe:

You should always be ready to bump into the greatest opportunity of your life.

That doesn't mean you need a designer label, a big budget or a wardrobe full of expensive things. Some of the best pieces are found in the most unexpected places.

But it does mean you need to be intentional with your choices.

Money doesn't equal style.

And style doesn't require a price tag.

What you wear should reflect who you are, what you stand for and where you are going.

Sure, your outfit doesn't tell the whole story.

But it often determines whether your story gets read...

Your appearance is not vanity. It's preparation.

PR Worx turns 25 on 13 October.

Yes, we know it is only June now, but we're not waiting.

If there is one thing 25 years in PR teaches you, it is that timing matters. But so does momentum.

Frankly, six months of celebrating the people, clients, stories, wins, lessons, near-misses, late nights, big ideas and beautifully controlled chaos that built PR Worx feels far more appropriate than 'one neat little birthday post' in October.

We're really not that kind of agency.

Since 2001, PR Worx has been in the rooms where reputations are built, protected, repaired, launched, challenged, defended and occasionally rescued from the kind of drama that makes your phone battery drop just from looking at it.

We have helped brands find their voice. We have helped leaders use theirs. We have written the statements nobody wanted to write, recorded the interviews the public wanted to see, planned the launches everyone wanted to attend, managed the interviews that needed nerves of steel, and built campaigns that did more than look pretty in a presentation.

And somewhere between the media calls, client wins, crisis plans, caffeine, deadlines and “quick calls” that were absolutely not quick, PR Worx became one of Africa’s most awarded independent communications agencies - particularly in crisis management.

The point is we are going strong than ever, still sharp, still curious, still evolving, and still completely allergic to generic BS PR.

So from today until October, we are celebrating 25 years of PR that Worx.

And not with nostalgia dressed in a gold logo, but with real stories. The kind that show why experience matters, but results matter more.

Happy almost-birthday to us.

Yesterday, a friend arrived at my house to borrow an evening dress for a black tie event.

But the dress wasn't the real issue.

Her eyes told the story before she said a word. She was emotionally drained, discouraged and carrying far more than she should have been carrying alone.

And in a few hours, she had to walk into a room and pitch for business.

I asked her a simple question: "Who is the woman you admire most online?"

She immediately pulled up a photo of a confident, elegant, successful woman living her best life in Dubai.

I looked at her and said, "Perfect. Borrow her for the evening."

Not her clothes. Not her money. Not her followers.

Borrow the way she carries herself when she walks into a room.

Because here's the truth. The problems waiting for you today will probably still be waiting for you tomorrow. A few hours isn't going to magically change your circumstances.

But it can change your mindset.

Sometimes when life has knocked the wind out of you, you don't need a five-year plan. You need to straighten your shoulders, lift your chin, walk into the room, and play the role of the strongest version of yourself until you remember who she is.

Sometimes it isn't about changing who you are. It's about temporarily stepping into the version of yourself that remembers what you're capable of.

The beautiful thing is that once your confidence returns, you can take off the borrowed armour and go back to being yourself.

But when you're stuck in a rut, do whatever helps you take the next step forward.

Tomorrow is a new day.

Today, just focus on winning the room.

One of the biggest mistakes I see in business is people trying to protect the version of themselves that worked for them ten years ago.

Business doesn’t stand still. Consumers are more discerning, media is evolving hourly, technology is flying, and attention spans are fighting for survival at this point. Yet some people still approach business exactly the way they did in 2016, and then act completely surprised when the phones stop ringing.

Experience alone isn't enough. It matters, but only if it keeps moving, otherwise it just becomes nostalgia dressed in a business suit.

That’s one of the reasons I pushed myself to complete my MBA in Media before I turn 55. Not because I needed letters after my name. After almost 35 years in this industry, I wanted to challenge my own thinking again. I wanted to stay current, uncomfortable, informed and sharp.

PR Worx has remained relevant for almost 25 years for the same reason. We refuse to become one of those agencies that keeps selling yesterday’s thinking in prettier packaging.

You can’t advise modern brands while operating with outdated thinking.

The communications world is moving faster than ever, and honestly? I friggin' love it! Reinvention keeps you young. Curiosity keeps you dangerous.

And that’s exactly the energy we’re taking into PR Worx’s 25th year.
