Shout-out to the content creators who share their knowledge instead of gatekeeping it. 👏

We asked Damien, one of our graphic designers, which Instagram accounts are actually worth following for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator tips, tricks, and design inspiration.

Here are his top picks:

The design community on Instagram is one of the best places to learn new techniques, especially when people are willing to share how they actually create things. Definitely worth a follow if you spend half your life inside Adobe like we do.

Social media has turned into a search engine which means your captions need keywords, not only vibes. 🙃

People are searching for things like:
“Coffee shop Durban”
“Marketing tips”
“Wedding photographer near me”

If your content is too vague, social platforms struggle to understand who to show it to.

That is exactly why our social media packages include keyword research, strategy, and captions written with searchability in mind.

Let us handle the hard part. 😉

One of the most underrated ways to use AI is for brainstorming when your brain feels completely fried.

Sometimes you are too close to your own business to think clearly anymore, and sometimes you need help getting your brain moving again.
That is where AI can actually help break the mental traffic jam a bit.

Try prompts like:

“Give me 10 campaign ideas for a [type of business] aimed at [audience]. Keep the ideas practical, modern, and realistic for social media.”

Or:

“What are common frustrations customers have when looking for a [industry] business?”

We end this series with an important note:
Use AI as a tool, not a replacement for thinking. 🙃

It should help you work faster and brainstorm better, not completely take over the job.

Instead of fighting for your life in Outlook for 45 minutes, when your brain has stopped functioning halfway through an email, try this:

“Rewrite this email to sound professional. Keep it clear and concise without sounding overly formal.”

Or:

“Rewrite this email so it sounds less aggressive because I am irritated, but still need to be professional.”

Honestly, that last one may be carrying half the workforce at this point. 🙃

Many businesses sit staring at a calendar every month, hoping ideas magically appear at the last minute.
Meanwhile, AI can help you structure content planning faster if you guide it properly.

Try this:

“Create a one-month social media content plan for a [type of business]. Include educational posts, relatable content, behind-the-scenes ideas, FAQs, testimonials, and lighter personality-driven posts. Keep the tone conversational and natural.”

Then refine it from there.
The first response is rarely perfect. The magic usually happens in the follow-up prompts.

Kind of like sending a designer “make it awesome” and hoping for the best. 👀 IYKYK 🤣

Do you think that ChatGPT is bad at writing captions? Most of the time, the prompt is the actual problem.

If you type:
“Write me a caption.”
You are probably about to receive motivational LinkedIn soup with words like “elevate”, “unlock”, and “fast-paced digital landscape”. 🙃

The trick is giving context.

Try this instead:

“Write an Instagram caption for a [type of business]. Keep the tone conversational, practical, and human. Add light humour. Avoid sounding corporate or overly salesy. Focus on [specific topic].”

The more direction you give, the better the result usually becomes.
Otherwise, ChatGPT starts sounding like it attended one business seminar and made it everyone’s problem.

We are starting a new series on ChatGPT prompts that make business life slightly less painful. 🙃

Now, before the internet starts panicking, yes, we have a real human content writer, and no, ChatGPT is not replacing her anytime soon.

But for start-ups, small businesses, or people staring at a blank screen wondering what on earth to post, AI can genuinely help if you use it properly.

The problem is that you type:
“Help me with content.”
And then wonder why the result sounds like a corporate robot having an identity crisis.

The quality of the output usually comes down to the quality of the prompt.

So over the next few posts, we are sharing practical prompts you can actually use in your business without needing to become a full-time prompt engineer overnight.

Starting with content ideas.

Try this:

“Give me 10 social media content ideas for a [type of business]. Keep the tone conversational and practical. Include common customer questions, mistakes people make, behind-the-scenes ideas, and educational content.”

Already better than:
“Help me post on Facebook.”

Mid-year is getting very close, and a lot of businesses are starting to realise the January marketing plan did not exactly survive the year so far. 🙃

Things get busy, priorities shift, and marketing slowly becomes something that gets handled “when there is time”.

That is exactly why we do strategy calls.

Sometimes you are too close to your own business to see what needs attention. Having a third party look at things objectively can make a massive difference, especially when everything has started feeling a bit reactive instead of planned.

If your marketing feels slightly all over the place right now, it may be time for a reset. 👀

Canva’s Brand Kit feature deserves more appreciation than it gets.

If you are constantly creating content, it saves a ridiculous amount of time because all your fonts, colours, logos, and brand elements sit in one place instead of being hunted down every single time you open a design.

It also helps keep your content consistent, which is one of the easiest ways to make your business look more polished online.

We don't realise how quickly inconsistent branding starts making a business feel disconnected.

One post looks corporate, and the next looks like it belongs to a completely different company. Then suddenly, there is Comic Sans involved, and everyone is stressed. 🙃

A little bit of structure in your design setup makes content creation much less painful.
