It’s been a while since I posted . The last two years have been a whirlwind of change for my family and I… good change but I do miss THIS! I miss taking u into the water for the first time, walking with u through the fear, laughing at the bellyflops and cheering on the first wave.

Thank u to these ladies who encouraged me to join them at the as a 😋Watching how u have grown on your surfing journey is an inspiration to me and the smiles and cheers today, make the “pause in life” seem ok. I know, your love for the ocean will bring so many more ladies to take that first step at .

Only a surfer knows the feeling🤪 New suit for winter!

What’s your go-to Winter suit and brand? I am trying out an O’Niel Hyperfreak 4.3 for the first time. It’s cold down in the Eastern Cape. Not too bad at the moment but gearing up for the colder season. I have always used Billabong Wetsuits so I am interested to try this brand and suit out.

I know it’s the last thing Durbanites are thinking of in this heat 🔆😓 proper bikini weather there ladies!!!

Mind surfing…

This is me Jade (aka ). Towards the end of last year my hubby and I decided we needed a new adventure. We felt stuck in the everyday routine and after the past few years of up and downs, needed something to fill our soul and reignite our dreams of travel.

And so, we took the plunge and have planted ourselves in our happy place

We have given ourselves a year to explore, travel the area, surf different breaks, possibly take up paddling, watch the sunsets and spend time as a family.

So what about ?
That’s the amazing thing about community and this brand / business…
It’s so much more. If u believe in something and others do to it will continue to grow with or without u. Blue Betty Socials will still go on in with the support of some (if not all) my beautiful Betties…ph and did I say retreat 🙌

And who knows… we might go National with a session in the Eastern Cape soon 😋

So this is me… my story and I hope to continue to inspire others to , take the leap, start something new and leave no regrets!!!

Love this! Let go and live

IT’S TIME

There comes a day, somewhere in the middle of every woman’s life, when Mother Nature herself stands behind us and wraps her arms around our shoulders, whispering

She will shake your shoulders gently and remind you that you’ve done your bit. You’ve given too much, cared too much, you’ve suffered too much.

You’ve bought the book, as it were, and worn the t-shirt.

Worse, you’ve worn the chains and carried the weight of a burden far too heavy for your shoulders.

“It’s time” she will say.

“Let it go, really let it go and feel the freedom of the fresh, clean spaces within you. Fill them with discovery, love and laughter. Fill yourself so full you will no longer fear what is ahead and instead you will greet each day with the excitement of a child.”

She will remind you that if you choose to stop caring what other people think of you and instead of caring what you think of you, that you will experience a new era of your life you never dreamed possible.

A sad farewell to Mark from Coffee Guys who has kept us fuelled after many surf and sup sessions! All the best on your new adventure.

So. My first post in a few years. Tomorrow 8th January 2023 will be my last day on South Beach. Lauryn, Joshua and I are going to start an exciting new chapter in our lives when we relocate to Mauritius next week.

I've posted this picture of Brian and I at the very beginning of our South Beach adventure. So many memories and so many awesome people have crossed our path since that day 11 years ago.

The support that Coffee Guys has received over the years has been truly humbling. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have imagined that such an amazing community would form on the grass patch. We have been truly blessed.

Please join me tomorrow if you can and have a coffee to celebrate the best early morning community in Durban!

I am leaving you in the very capable hands of my partner Tracy and the awesome skills of Lucky and Ronald who you have all come to know over the past few years. They will continue the Coffee Guys legacy.
