☀️ Happy Sunday everyone!

A number of years ago, I started my own computer business.

Before I took the leap, I did my homework. I spoke to customers and suppliers and made sure I had a chance of making it work.

Then came the reality.

Early mornings.

Long days.

Some days driving over 500 kilometres (311 miles).

Fuel costs.

Vehicle costs.

Maintenance.

Changing laws.

Shrinking margins.

Growing expenses.

Eventually, I had to make a difficult decision and close the business.

The next chapter wasn't much easier.

More travelling.

More time on the road.

More hours away from home.

Some nights I wouldn't get home until 8pm.

That's when I realised something had to change.

Not because I was afraid of hard work.

I've worked hard all my life.

But because retirement was getting closer and I wanted another option.

That's when I discovered affiliate marketing.

Today I'm still learning, still growing, and still building.

The difference?

This time I'm building something that doesn't depend on how many kilometres I can drive in a day.

It's been a tough week.

Coco had two tumours removed, countless vet visits, medication, and that dreaded cone of shame. There were moments when I was worried, exhausted, and wondering what came next.

Today we went back for her check-up.

The vet says the wounds are healing well.
The collar has to stay on for another 7 days (which Coco is definitely not impressed about 😂), but she's eating again and her cheeky personality is starting to return.

She even chased off the baboon stealing avocados when we got back 😂

The funniest part?
Zorro refused to be left behind and insisted on coming along for the ride too. ❤️

This week reminded me of something important ...

When you love someone, whether they have two legs or four, you just keep showing up.

One day at a time.
One step at a time.
One tail wag at a time.

Now we're looking forward to getting back to our walks together.

Thank you to everyone who has sent kind messages and good wishes. They mean more than you know. 🐾❤️

This morning I dropped my girl Coco off
for surgery. 🐾

She's 10 years old and has been my faithful
companion through some of the hardest years
of my life.

Today she's having two tumours removed and
I'm sitting here trying to stay busy while
I wait until 3pm to fetch her.

Pets don't ask for much. Just love,
safety and someone to come home to.

That's enough reason for me to keep
building something better.

Come home safe my baby. 💛🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm having one of those days today.

My dog Coco is going into surgery tomorrow and
I'm sitting here trying to hold it together.

Vet bills. Work stress. The constant feeling
that there has to be something better than
this hamster wheel.

That's exactly why I started Freedom After 45.

Not for the glamour.
Not because I had it all figured out.

But because one day I looked around and
realised - I couldn't keep doing this forever.

If you've ever felt that way - I see you.

And I'm building something for both of us.

I honestly give up 😩😂

The HUGE baboon got into my kitchen AGAIN today.

We still have NO idea how he got in because everything was closed.

This one is enormous … bigger than me … and I think he has very few teeth left because he only steals soft foods.

Eggs.
Bananas.
Bread.
Anything easy to eat.

And honestly?
I ended up feeling sorry for him while simultaneously wanting to cry cleaning up the disaster 😅

Then fibre went down…

Then came the phone calls …

Then the arguments with the fibre company…

And suddenly Monday completely disappeared.

You know what though?

Sometimes life reminds you that nobody online has a perfect polished life no matter how perfect their Instagram feed looks.

Behind the scenes we’re all fighting something…

Baboons.
Bills.
Stress.
Technology.
Work.
Health.
Life.

So, if your Wednesday (hump day) has been chaos too…

Welcome to the club 😂

I left the house worried about my dog this morning…

Came home and the baboons had broken into the kitchen 😩
Fresh scones gone.
Bananas gone.
Eggs destroyed.

Absolute chaos everywhere.

And honestly?

It reminded me a bit of the online world right now 😅

So many people are running around grabbing everybody else’s content…

Copying posts.
Copying hooks.
Copying videos.
Copying personalities.

But here’s the thing about baboons…

They make a huge mess because they don’t know how to build anything themselves.

And I think the same thing happens online.

The people who quietly build their own voice, their own style and their own audience over time…

Usually last much longer.

That’s why I focus more on becoming genuinely ME online.
Messy.
Learning.
Human.
Over 45.

Still figuring things out.

But real 💜
