Julius Malema says the State is pushing for a 15-year prison sentence in his firearm discharge case.

He was previously found guilty over a 2018 incident where he fired a gun at an EFF rally.

The matter is now at the sentencing stage and will proceed on the 15-16th of April 2026.

Thabani Mazibuko was allegedly shot by a drunk police officer in Diepsloot while allegedly trying to help a woman who was being assaulted.

However Police claim he was attempting a robbery, but family and witnesses strongly dispute this.

IPID has launched an investigation. No arrests have been made yet.

South African politician, educator and academic Dr. Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor has been installed as the new Chancellor of the Nelson Mandela University.

In her first address as the new chancellor, the former Minister of Education said:

“We owe a legacy to all the founders of our democracy to express our gratitude by being hard working quality students, quality academics, quality administrators, quality university leaders and quality leaders of society.”

South African actor Keketso Mpitso is receiving praises for his character as Tladi on Showmax: Outlaws as season 2 comes to an end.

Keketso, born and raised in Daveyton, became a fan favourite for portraying the villain character of Tladi who got tired of being under Leruo’s shadow and went on to build his own kingdom.

Tladi met his fate in episode 40 after he stood one-on-one against Bandile Biyela who has been hunting him down the entire season.

Bandile managed to pe*****te a bullet though Tladi’s proud chest, and that was how his world crumbled down.

Suspended officer sergeant Fannie Nkosi has gone on a hunger strike at the Kgosi Mampuru Prison where he will be held until his bail application scheduled for 13 April 2026.

Nkosi claims that he is targeted and doesn’t trust prison food.

The case has been postponed to 13 April for a bail hearing.
