We spent over 90 hours building our media insights dashboard. (93 hours to be exact, a data point that matters to us)
Not because we wanted to play with AI.
Because we were tired of watching people pretend that off the shelf tools were giving real insight.
We tested more than 15 of them.
Most looked slick.
Most were shallow.
When checked against Meta, Google and TikTok Ads Manager, the outputs were mostly inaccurate.
Some flat out hallucinated results.
The insights commentary was low level.
The visuals were poor.
And without proper API access, real-time reporting was totally unreliable.
If you are not working with the AI, and you do not have the expert knowledge to guide it, you are probably building something for the sake of building it.
A shiny wrapper.
A demo.
Not a serious business tool.

It needs context.
It needs pressure.
It needs standards.
It needs a team who actually understands the subject properly.
That is where the real build happened for us.
Yes, we used Claude Code, Visual Studio, and secured the API permissions needed from Meta and TikTok. +++

The real edge was using decades of campaign and data experience to work with the AI properly.
We guided it with real media knowledge.
We trained it on what campaign insights should actually look like.
We enriched the learning with millions of data points from campaigns we have run over the years. (no client IP was compromised here, these were engagement levels data points only)
That is why the outcome is different.
This is not AI guessing.
