During her visit to South Africa, music legend and UNICEF Goodwill Ambasssador Angélique Kidjo visited the Hillbrow Community Health Center with UNICEF South Africa.

It serves as a vital healthcare hub for the densely populated inner-city area of Johannesburg, providing essential services for women before, during, and after pregnancy.

There, she met Philani and her 6-week-old baby, Melissa, who received one vaccine that protects her against six major preventable childhood diseases, including polio and whooping cough, all at once.

Saving children's lives doesn't always require complex solutions. The tools to keep them safe and healthy are simple and affordable.

What a privilege! 💙

I have spent the last few days with music legend and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angélique Kidjo. For more than 20 years, she has generously given her time and her voice to stand up for children’s rights around the world. This time, she came to South Africa.

Over the next few days, I will be sharing the stories of some of the children we met along the way.

Stories of hope as the title of her last album HOPE!!.

J’ai passé ces derniers jours aux côtés de la légende de la musique et Ambassadrice de bonne volonté de l’UNICEF Angelique Kidjo.

Depuis plus de 20 ans, elle offre généreusement son temps et sa voix pour défendre les droits des enfants à travers le monde. Cette fois, elle est venue en Afrique du Sud.

Au cours des prochains jours, je partagerai les histoires de quelques-uns des enfants que nous avons rencontrés en chemin.
