One of the most overlooked elements of a polished appearance is colour harmony.

One of the biggest style misconceptions is that looking more polished requires buying more clothes.

In reality, most wardrobes need fewer impulse purchases and more outfit formulas that work.

This has become one of my favourite winter combinations: an animal-print midi dress with an asymmetrical handkerchief hemline, caramel leather boots and a structured denim jacket.

What makes it work isn't the individual pieces. It's the styling principles behind them:
