The Gemsbok Stride

The midday heat lay flat over the pan, heavy enough to bend the air itself. Nothing moved. Then, dust lifted.

He came from the white horizon at his own pace. No trot. No stumble. Each hoof fell with a soft, certain thud, as if he had already decided where the earth should be.

His horns didn't sway. They cut straight through the shimmer, two clean lines against the sky. The dark bands across his legs were sharp, almost painted on, and the sun caught the pale gold of his back and made it glow.

He didn't scan for predators. He didn't check the wind. He knew the jackals were watching and he kept walking anyway, because some creatures don't survive the desert by hiding from it.
He passed right through, left four perfect prints in the sand, and kept going toward the next horizon.

My first ACEO

I’m so excited to share my very first ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals)

This little piece is the beginning of a new journey for me , bringing my love for watercolour, gouache and wildlife into a tiny 2.5 × 3.5 inch artwork.

There’s something so special about creating a miniature original and knowing it can become a little piece of art that someone treasures.

This is just the beginning… I can’t wait to create more.

There’s something beautiful about those quiet moments in the wild where strength, patience and stillness exist together.

This piece was painted in watercolour on 100% cotton watercolour paper, capturing the leopard in a moment of calm movement.
