Over time, we have lost our connection with nature and animals, no longer living in harmony as a part of a bigger whole. We have taught ourselves to view animals as commodities, less than, Other.

As a response to this observation, photographer Yana Wernicke captures the close relationship between two woman and the animals they have rescued, in hopes of closing the gap between us and the animals we live alongside.

These images are worth scrolling through and will hopefully spark something within you as well.
