Pam Zofuka and her team are becoming true champions of the Colourplus Mask For All initiative. This time round they were handing out masks to the homeless and to children and adults on the Cape Flats. If everyone was as committed as she and her team it would go a long way to helping our communities in this time of distress and suffering

We have reached 800 000 mask distribution mark. As we make our final push to reach our final 1 million target. We wanted to highlight that it’s been tough but the joy on the faces of children and adults as they receive free masks is all the reward we can ask for. Thank you to my staff, the teams of machinist who have made this possible. Thank you enormously for your very generous sponsorship. You displayed your sense of caring for the people in the communities we grew up. Thank you every one who stood behind us. Now for the final hurdle. We hope to continue beyond the million mask milestone so your continued support is appreciated. @ Cape Town, Western Province, South Africa

In it Together - Thank you Khayelitsha for playing an important part in supporting the Mask For All and Food For All initiative by providing all their customers and staff with cloth masks. Social distancing and cloth masks play a crucial role in helping protect our people from the Covid-19 virus. We all have to be vigilant. Staying apart is the best way to stay united.

The deadly Covid-19 virus that has already infected an ever-increasing number of people in Cape Town and led to the death of several people, has highlighted a grave new problem in a city in lockdown – a severe shortage of food for the poor and disadvantaged people in the townships.
With everyone confined to their homes and winter fast approaching, most in these communities are jobless and will find it extremely tough to source food and put it on the table to feed their families.
Now ColourPlus, the Woodstock textile firm that started the 1 million Masks For All project three weeks ago, has joined forces with like-minded businesses to launch a Food For All campaign.
The owner of ColourPlus, Henry John Ludski, said today he had no qualms in linking the masks project with one that provided food for people who are starving in the community.
“As important as it is to provide masks to protect people against this disease that is crippling our communities, it has become apparent that food supply is becoming just as big an issue for the vulnerable,” Ludski said.
“We cannot sit back and allow our people to go hungry. Starvation is possibly a greater threat to poor communities than the virus itself.
“Now the Masks For All campaign has been extended to include a Food For All component. “For everyone 1000 masks sold to corporates ColourPlus will donate R5000 to recognised feeding programs.
“We at ColourPlus have been in discussions with a few businesses and the plan is to raise between R50,000 and R100,000 each week and then distribute the money to reputable relief organisations that will in turn provide free meals to thousands of families. This is a conservative weekly estimate and I am determined to raise much more than that”.
