With out a well thought Layout & Composition, your design will look incomplete, visiually incorrect and unappealing.
Knowing where to place your content will help you achieve the desired look and feel of your design.
If you understand layout you will understand that positioning your content on an A5 flyer and a DL folded flyer are very different.
