Key word of advice: Speak WITH your customers, not TO them.

Brand messaging is really the most reliable line of communication your brand has with customers.

It portrays your brand (in many various ways) to your customer in hopes that they will identify with your brand and pick up at the other end.

Here’s a few brand channels that are great when communicating your message..

- Posters or Flyers

- Emails

- Sales Calls

- Slogan and Tagline

- Website Copy-Writing

- Social Media Copy-Writing

When it comes to writing copy for your brand, one size most definitely does not fit all.

Each brand has a unique team, strategy and identity - and that should come through in your brand messaging.

Once you have a solid brand identity and strategy in place, you can start to build up your brand messaging pillars, which may include things like: your value proposition to customers and your unique selling point (USP).

When these have been defined, you can start to work on your unique tone of voice (TOV) which helps you to stand out in a crowded market and further connect with audiences.

Sounds pretty important right? Well it is. So let’s simplify.

Think about baked beans for a minute.

Yes, baked beans 🍛

Think about one of the cheaper brands of baked beans, say Lucky Star - how do you feel about those?

Now think about KOO baked beans - feel any different?

How about the Woolworths brand of baked beans - how do you feel about their brand of baked beans?

Chances are you felt quite different about each brand, although the product is quite plainly, a tin of baked beans.

That’s the power of Brand Positioning.

It plays a key role in your feeling towards a specific brand - although the product may be very much the same.

Brand Marketing is a process.

And as much as businesses want (and often need) to make money right now - this process can take some time.

It’s different for everyone, because everyone is different. Everyone has had different experiences, read different books or learnt from different mentors.

The important part is to start. To fall. To learn and to get up again.

No matter how old or young you are, no matter how scared you feel. And no matter how many chances you think you have.

Have you ever heard the saying… ‘Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life'?

Well, that’s kid of what I’m going for here…

Branding is about finding the things you love about your business and highlighting them to your customer.
So that a brand-customer relationship can start to form.

A good brand-customer relationship will eventually develop into sales, brand loyalty and advocacy - meaning more sales and more great customers.

With so much of EVERYTHING out there, finding your WHY is more important for businesses than ever!

So What Makes You The Expert?

I’m all for questions and conversations. I honestly feel that is the only way you get to know someone and someone’s brand.

I’ve worked with many different people and various brands and for me it’s important to hold up the ‘mirror’ and ask the same questions of myself.

Often, we get so focused on the work we are doing for others, we forget to do the work for ourselves. Kind of like that shoemaker story (you know the one).

Which is why I’ve decided to apply the work that I do to my own brand and share some of that with you over time
