Last year, I had the privilege of photographing this vibrant couple, and , honeymooners from New York. 🇺🇸They arrived, not just as a couple, but as a statement – their vibrant energy and those custom jackets, featuring their newly married last name, a testament to the art of celebrating love.

Their love for fashion was evident in their stylish outfits. It was one of those perfect moments: capturing their love story bathed in golden light. The setting sun cast a golden glow, creating a magical atmosphere as I captured their story unfolding against the backdrop of the iconic Cape Town landscapes. To capture their story unfolding under the sunset was a reminder that time, like light, is ephemeral, yet its essence can be held within a frame. There’s a certain magic in golden light, isn’t there? The worst hike ever! 👆

Just kidding! 🙈 It was actually one of the best sunset hikes I’ve ever been on, and I can assure you that I have seen many great sunsets.

This sunset, it was a combination of the hike, the clouds, the lighting, and the rock formations all throughout the hike!

The best part about it all! It was a spontaneous mission! We headed up around 5 pm, and got back just after 10 pm!

The hike up is pretty steep, but every few moments you’re able to stop and admire the view!

There’s one little scramble, so I wouldn’t advise anyone afraid of heights, but yeah, if you aren’t, it’s an incredible sunset hike that many people don’t know about, or do often!

Cape Town has the worst Winter ever! 🤯

Just kidding! 😂 I mean, one would think many of these shots were taken in the Summertime, but I guess that is Cape Town for you! We experience every season within 24 hours!

One thing that surprised me about this past Winter is the number of people still swimming and surfing on some of the coldest days we’ve had! It’s definitely something I’ll try next Winter 😂

Can you spot the shark!??? 🦈

No, that wasn’t clickbait, but in all honesty, while capturing this footage, the shark siren did go off at least once at Muizenberg Beach. It could have been more times, but I had headphones in… 🙈

Anyways, this video is a combination of FPV shots I’ve been practicing, as the regular cinematic drone shots were becoming too boring for my liking.

Becoming an FPV pilot is something I’m working hard towards, as I try to fly for at least an hour every day. I feel like it’s not enough, considering there are only 365 days in the year, but my biggest driver right now, it’s just to be consistent in practicing my flying skills and improving by 1% each day.

The reality of the situation is, each day you do not become better, but it is those tough days that make you stronger, especially for the tougher days ahead.
