We created a bold and eye-catching social media campaign for Firmlinx (Pty) Ltd in order to launch their competitive Fibre packages in Witbank and Nelspruit. ⁣

The Fast, Reliable, Fibre campaign tied in perfectly with the Firmlinx (Pty) Ltd pay-off line Fast, Reliable, ICT. We incorporated the new brand look and feel with strong call to actions and saw great results. ⁣

The campaign ran for a month and with help from social media expert Bridget Vlag we gained 336 808 total impressions with 2056 clicks to the new Firmlinx (Pty) Ltd website and 256 page views. 52 464 people were reached via page posts with 3091 engagements. ⁣

Firmlinx (Pty) Ltd approached The Brand Buro to do a brand refresh in order to celebrate their 10th year in business. We created a brand identity that appropriately echoes that of their ever expanding ICT offering. A fresh and modern logo, visual identity, photographic style, colour palette and corporate stationery all formed part of the Firmlinx (Pty) Ltd rebrand.

We launched their brand-new website on the 1st of September. Check it out here https://firmlinx.co.za/

We helped the The RYKEN movement with a rebrand, refining their brand in terms of logo, visual style, social media, shirt designs and typography in order to best serve its core values by taking it to the next level.

We launched the brand new website with some awesome newly designed gear at the start of September.

FONT FRIDAY⁣

Brandon Grotesque, the sans serif typeface, created by German designer Hannes von Döhren of HVD Fonts was inspired by the geometric lines of the 1920’s and 30’s. ⁣

The font consists of six weights with matching Italics. The low x-height is distinct and adds to its novelty. The rounded edges brings a warmth that sets Brandon Grotesque apart from its stark geometric counterparts of rather ⁣
counter-types :)⁣

I prefer Brandon in uppercase for use in logos and headlines but its lowercase does have a certain informal charm which could lend itself to numerous playful projects.⁣

Brandon Grotesque is available for use from Adobetypekit⁣

FONT FRIDAY ⁣

Didot, created by and named after famous Parisian printing and type producing Didot family. The font is inspired by Baskerville’s high contrast strokes and similar to those produced by the famous Giambattista Bodoni. Didot is considered to be a neoclassical font because of these trademarks.⁣

The letters were cut and cast by Firmin Didot , during 1784–1811 and used by his brother Pierre Didot who printed the now famous edition of Voltaire’s masterpiece, La Henriade.⁣

In 1966 the font was used as part of the CBS (Columbia Broadcasting System) logo together with its well known ‘eye’ icon.⁣

In 1991, Adrian Frutiger (premier designer at Linotype), adapted the font for digital use. He increased the stroke weight so the font could scale better and the thin lines were not lost when using the font in smaller sizes. Jonathan Hoefler of H&FJ, studied several versions of Didot from 1819 and created a similar solution named HTF Didot which was used by .⁣

Didot is French to its core in style and elegance and perfectly suited for editorial layout in high end fashion publications.⁣

Thanks to caroline hernandez from for making this truly Parisian image free to use🖤⁣

FONT FRIDAY 🖤⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Proxima Nova, created by type designer , was revised and expanded from the original Proxima Sans, and released in 2005. It is a modern geometric font and often described as a hybrid or even bridging the gap between Futura and Akzidenz Grotesk.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The original name, when the typeface was starting to take shape in early 90’s, was Visigothic. But in 1994, it was changed to Proxima Sans, to showcase some of the font’s stronger letters like the ‘s’ and the ‘a’.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
After the very successful release of Gotham in 2002, there was a demand for more geometric fonts, paving the way for Proxima Sans.⁣
⁣⁣
According to Cowlesmedia, Proxima Nova is replacing Helvetica as the world’s most popular font today, with its extensive online presence across the web. It feels familiar, yet does not draw attention to itself and therefore has a digital versatility which is inherent to its success.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Proxima Nova is great for use in Upper and lowercase and is available on ‘s typekit.⁣⁣

Thanx to Sean Driscoll for making this image free to use on . The geometric lines of the image complement those of the typeface.⁣⁣

FONT FRIDAY 🙌

DIN, the sans-serif industrial style typeface with its lean and geometric lines is one of the most widely used fonts today. DIN, an acronym for Deutsches Institut für Normung (the German Institute for Standardization) originated in 1905, created originally for the Prussian railway system in order to standardise the lettering on their freight cars.

The typeface would go on to become the standard for traffic signs, street signs, house numbers and license plates. It was widely used throughout Germany and became synonymous with German design.

One of the most famous and best selling adaptations of DIN is by Dutch design Albert-Jan Pool for Fontfont known, as FF DIN.

FF DIN is great for using in magazines, advertisements, online as well as logos. Even though I really love DIN, I have not used it all that much as I personally feel it is has been overused for quite some time now.

VYSTINA BRAND REFRESH

A brand refresh created for Vystina, a motion design studio producing unique, easy to use templates primarily for Final Cut Pro and After Effects. Vystina’s motion design templates are dynamic and therefore its own branding should be as unique and dynamic as its products.

The idea was to use images that convey movement in combination with diagonal lines and a vibrant colour palette so the dynamic concept of motion design can be reinforced. Check out Vystina on

BRAND DEVELOPMENT 3/3

A brand development and website homepage for Make Good Things Rise, an Australian ethical business that value people and planet as much as profit. Their purpose is to enable positive change in the world through digitally empowering purpose-driven initiatives. The brief was to create a brand which was simplistic and uncluttered in its approach, reinforcing the idea of a reduced footprint, yet bold enough to make a statement in order to bring positive change.

The logo concept symbolises this idea of “making good things rise” with its words stacked on top of each other. The line on the left of the logo represents the journey, people and organisations that support these good things and the square itself represents the good/ethical thing that has risen.
