The secret ingredient to a high-performing team is trust - and a little bit of terror. Mountain biking through the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch (a first for everyone involved) covered both of these things. We laughed, we complained, and somehow managed to stay upright even on the rockiest of roads, making sure to stop and shout words of encouragement to whoever needed it at the time. This is exactly how we handle challenges at Be-cause - with humour, with grace, and most importantly, as a team.

It can be difficult to find a partner who can grasp technical depth and still communicate it clearly.

Usually, you’re forced to choose between a specialist who knows the science but can’t tell the story, or a creative team that doesn't understand the jargon. At Be-cause, our team is built to bridge that gap.

Our strategy and content teams are made up of communications experts with experience working in niche, highly technical industries - from pharma and biotech, to science, renewable energy, and fintech. We take the time to understand the depth of what you do.

Pure product punts don't secure media coverage. To stand out to journalists, your brand needs to offer real value to their readers - providing insight or a fresh perspective on relevant local and international current affairs. This drives readership for news publications and brand awareness for your business.

For client Crimson Education, we tied a record-breaking number of South African admissions at Ivy League universities into discussions around the political landscape in the United States. Media received in-depth commentary on the impact of US policy on South African students, while Crimson was positioned as an expert industry thought leader.

Demonstrating impact is not as simple as sharing data and numbers in a report. For people to really understand the concrete effect of your work, the stats have to be contextualised through a compelling narrative - supported with engaging visual design. We supported behavioural design firm ideas42 with the development of a 62-page case study-style report about one of the country's most important education data platforms - working with tight deadlines, a huge amount of research, and incredibly nuanced messaging.

The final product is an in-depth review of 13 years of impact and actionable opportunities for the future - a document that provides insight, is functional, and comes wrapped up in an eye-catching, on-brand look and feel.

Becoming the voice people listen to doesn’t happen by accident. It takes an intentional approach to shift from just being part of the conversation to being the one who leads it.

In complex sectors like healthcare, biotech, and renewables, visibility isn't enough - you need a strategy that ensures you are heard by the people who count.

That strategy isn't a tactical quick fix; it’s a slow burn that requires clear objectives and a leadership team ready to lean into the process.

We’ve put together the key criteria to help you gauge if your brand is ready to move beyond the noise and start shaping your industry narrative.

Happy Birthday to Be-cause's secret weapon, our Head of Client Service Kirsten Fahey. You'll never meet anyone as detail-oriented or committed to problem solving - two qualities that are critical to running client accounts in complex sectors like healthcare, renewable energy, and cybersecurity. She also has a big heart, bringing care and empathy to the office and every professional relationship, which makes her exactly the right person to bridge the work we do with the brands we work with.

Wishing you all the best on this milestone birthday, Kirst 🥳🎂

Turning tactical gear into a national conversation isn’t easy - unless you know how to make it matter.

For Nextorch, newly launched in South Africa, we turned a B2B product story into news. Operation Night Watch brought together South African Police Service, South African National Parks, and more than 25 private security companies for a first-of-its-kind cross-sector collaboration - positioning Nextorch not just as a supplier, but as a trusted partner and industry thought leader.

This resulted in coverage across Moneyweb , CGTN, IOL News, Defence Web, and Pretoria News - building credibility, visibility, and recognition where it counts.

From product manufacturer to thought leader, we help brands lead the conversation. Let's chat [email protected]

Launching Cape Town’s next iconic precinct takes strategy, storytelling, and ex*****on. For The Granger, a R2-billion mixed-use development, we turned their milestone launch into front-page news.

Together with our partner Curated Concept, we worked with Devmark Property Group and The Feenstra team to shape key messaging, manage media relations, coordinate VIPs, and produce photography and video highlights - ensuring The Granger’s vision was seen and understood.

This resulted in coverage across top-tier media, including CapeTalk , Moneyweb , Cape Argus , IOL News , Asset News Hub, Real Estate Investor, and Heart FM - cementing The Granger as Cape Town’s next transformative urban development.

Turning milestones into headlines takes insight, precision, and storytelling. That’s where we come in.

Let’s bring your launch to the right people: [email protected]

High-quality video content doesn't just capture a milestone - it creates one.

Partnering with Curated Concept, we elevated the official sod-turning and launch of The Granger - a R2-billion mixed-use development - into a compelling visual story.

On the night, we coordinated interviews with high-profile guests like Alderman James Vos, captured every key moment, and shaped a narrative that positioned Green Point Stadium’s newest resident as the development to watch.

The result? More than a highlight reel. We delivered a strategic story that turned VIP attendees into brand ambassadors, transformed event footage into meaningful sales material, and kept the energy of one unforgettable evening alive long after the cameras stopped rolling.

Last week, we swapped our Table Mountain view for black tie and big milestones at PPO Serve’s 10th anniversary celebrations in Midrand.

PPO Serve has spent a decade reimagining primary healthcare in South Africa - and we were honoured to celebrate alongside their team, partners, and changemakers who’ve been part of this journey. Our Head of Client Services, Kirsten Fahey, flew up to join the event and witness the impact firsthand.

We’ve worked with PPO Serve for years, helping them share how collaborative care, tech-enabled systems, and community-focused teams can create meaningful change. Being invited into spaces like this isn’t just a courtesy, it’s a sign of the trust, alignment, and partnership built over time.

Ten years is no small feat. Here’s to the people driving real change in healthcare, and to the work still ahead.

Here's to a gnarly 2025! 🏄🏻 To close out the year, the Be-cause team decided to take on one last challenge - learning to surf off Cape Town's iconic Muizenberg coast. Between the wetsuits and wipeouts, we learned that we're better at writing than riding waves.

A big thank you to all of our clients, partners, and suppliers for the exciting projects and support over the past year. We're looking forward to getting back on the board in 2026 ✌🏻
