Don’t be so obvious y’all.

The em dash (—) isn’t proof that something was written with AI, but it’s become one of the biggest giveaways.

Why? Because AI tends to use it… a lot.

When every sentence is perfectly polished and full of em dashes, it can make your writing feel generic, even if that wasn’t your intention.

AI is a great tool, but don’t let it write for you. Edit it. Add your personality. Change the flow. Write like you speak.

People connect with people, not perfect punctuation.

Is it okay to use free stock photos when you're starting your business? Absolutely.

Every business starts somewhere, and not everyone has a library full of beautiful content from day one.

Free stock photos are a great way to create a professional first impression while you're building your portfolio, growing your brand, and finding your feet. There are some fantastic free resources available; you don't need a big budget to get started.

A few things to keep in mind:
-Choose images that match your brand and the people you want to attract, your ideal client.
-Keep your style consistent so your business feels vibey.
-Add your own colours, fonts, or graphics to make the content feel more like you, if you want to.
-Use free stock photos to support your message. PLEASE make sure it's free and use words like "Inspo" or 'Moodboard" when using them.

As your business grows, you'll naturally start swapping those stock images for your own photos, your own work, and your own journey.

OH HEY...

So... sorry for disappearing for like 3 years. 😅

The truth is, we never stopped creating.

While Minds Eye Media was a little quieter online, we've been busy building our other creative businesses, photographing weddings, creating beautiful florals, raising a family, juggling work, drinking too much coffee, and doing our best to keep all the balls in the air.

But one thing never changed: we've continued helping businesses with their social media, design, content and creative ideas behind the scenes. And honestly? We missed this.

So consider this our official "we're backkkkk" post.

Same people.
Same passion for helping small businesses.
A few more grey hairs.
A lot more experience.
