✨ Flowing Currents of Self ✨

This piece reflects the inner tides of being—fragmented yet connected, flowing toward wholeness. The grayscale face anchors the material self, while the vivid fish embody consciousness in motion: red as passion, blue as depth, yellow as illumination. Together, in harmony, they swim through and around us, carrying fragments of thought and memory that merge into the living flow of identity.

The dialogue between monochrome and colour speaks to balance: the grayscale as stability and presence, the chromatic bursts as transformation and resonance. In their interplay, the work suggests that even fragmented currents, when seen together, reveal the whole self in motion.

Here’s my pencil drawing from our recent class exercise — exploring detail, light, and depth through the human eye. I loved working on the textures and reflections, and how something so small can hold such vast meaning.

Grateful for the practice, the guidance, and the chance to sharpen my vision one line at a time.

🎨 Old Masters, Reimagined — My oil painting for the upcoming Old Masters Exhibition at Margate Museum.

We were asked to rethink a classic, so I chose Michelangelo’s David and gave him a contemporary twist — streetwise, tattooed, and unapologetically modern. Think pop culture meets Renaissance: graffiti blooms, butterflies, and bold markings layered over vibrant skin tones. A rebel icon for our times.

This piece is my tribute to transformation — how old forms can carry new voices. From marble to mural, from myth to message.

Echoes of the Third Dawn: Prophecy

It was once thought that dawns came only with the sun.
But the first was flesh, the second was mind,
and the third waits unseen, where soul remembers itself.

Long ago, voices spoke of three faces —
earth, mirror, flame — drifting in shadow.
They were not believed, yet their echoes stirred the air.

When the echoes converge,
time folds, and the seeker ceases to be seeker.
The veil thins, and a figure steps forth —
not old, not new, but whole.

Thus the Third Dawn is not seen, but felt.
It arrives as a tremor, a whisper,
a prophecy once thought forgotten,
carried in the marrow of those who awaken.

'n Logo wat jou laat sê "Ja, nee, dis Karoo!"

Ek was bevoorreg om die ontwerpe vir Biki Karoo te doen, en ons het begin met 'n logo wat so uniek is soos 'n springbok in 'n sokkie. Die ontwerp moes uitstaan, maar tog professioneel wees. Die naam Biki Karoo het so 'n lekker Afrikana-gevoel, en ek wou dit in die logo vasvang.

Die logo is met die hand geteken en oorgeteken, en toe gestileer na 'n vector formaat. Hoekom? Sodat die vriendelike mense van Biki Karoo nooit hoef te sukkel om hulle logo 'n bietjie groter te kan print nie. Ons almal weet hoe belangrik dit is om 'n logo te hê wat so groot kan wees soos jy hom nodig het!

Daarna het ons aan die produkte en label designs gewerk wat die hele gevoel van Biki Karoo meer vasvang. Ek is baie trots op die eindresultaat, en ek d**k dit is 'n perfekte weerspieëling van die Biki Karoo-handelsmerk.

Ek wil net baie dankie sê aan almal by Biki Karoo wat hulle vertroue in my gesit het om te help om hulle besigheid van die grond af te kry. Dit was nog altyd een van my passies om klein besighede of startups te kan help floreer deur professionele ontwerpe te kan doen wat jy gewoonlik net in sogenaamde agencies sien.

Ek is 'n bietjie "old school" en doen alles met die hand. Ek gebruik nie Canva of A.I om 'n logo te ontwerp nie. Ek glo in die klient se visie en probeer altyd om top gehalte werk daar buite te sit.

So, as jy op soek is na 'n logo wat so uniek is soos 'n gemsbok wat boogie...wel kontak my, miskien kan ek help!

Over the past two years, my passion for character and merchandise design has grown immensely, to the point where I'll be pursuing it full-time starting in 2025. I'm shifting my primary focus to what I truly love. While I'll still take on corporate design work, this page will now showcase more of my creative endeavors. Everthing is drawn by hand and I dont use A.I to create my images.
