They just keep collecting in SA... OpenAI notice: "We want to inform you about the introduction of a value-added tax (VAT) on your invoice which will be implemented starting January 1, 2025. In compliance with South Africa’s Value-Added Tax Act No. 89 of 1991 and supported by the Electronic Services Regulation R.221, we will be required to charge and collect a VAT of 15% on your invoice."

I was in a cleanup mood today - after tackling the rubber door seal on the washing machine (eek!), I turned my attention to my desk. Realised my Canva was a mess with various client folders, designs, brand CI folders, digital channel folders, and tons of uploaded images. 🗂️

You have to say, the decision of the Ackerman family to relinquish control of Pick n Pay is a generous one. Legally, there was nothing obliging the family to make this concession. But you also have to say that the company has its back to the wall.
