EVANS KANGWA FAREWELL MATCH SET TO LIGHT UP WOODLANDS STADIUM

Zambian football fans are in for an unforgettable afternoon as the nation prepares to celebrate one of its finest football sons, Evans Kangwa, in a grand farewell match scheduled for Saturday, 6th June 2026 at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

The highly anticipated encounter will see Legends XI take on All Stars XI in a spectacle designed not only to honour Kangwa’s incredible football journey, but also to celebrate the legacy he leaves on the pitch after years of dedicated service to club and country.

From the dusty grounds of Zambia to international football arenas, Evans Kangwa has carried the nation’s hopes with pride, passion and consistency. Known for his pace, creativity and eye for goal, Kangwa has become a household name in Zambian football, inspiring a generation of young players dreaming of wearing the national colours.

The farewell match promises more than just football. Organisers have lined up live entertainment, special guest appearances and a family-friendly atmosphere expected to attract supporters from across the country. Fans will have the rare opportunity to witness some of Zambia’s football legends sharing the same pitch one more time in honour of a player whose contribution to the game will never be forgotten.

With over 338 appearances and 100 career goals, Kangwa’s numbers only tell part of the story. His commitment, leadership and relentless fighting spirit made him a fan favourite everywhere he played.

Kick-off is set for 12:00hrs, with tickets already available through Computicket outlets in Shoprite stores nationwide. Ordinary tickets are going for K50, while VIP tickets are pegged at K300.

Football lovers are expected to turn Woodlands Stadium into a sea of green, orange and black as Zambia says thank you to a true football icon.

This will not just be a match. It will be a celebration of memories, passion, patriotism and a career that inspired thousands.

On 6th June, the final whistle will blow but the legacy of Evans Kangwa will continue to echo through Zambian football for generations to come.

CONFIRMED: FAZ PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS SECURE NATIONAL LEAGUE PLAYOFF SPOTS

The race for promotion continues to heat up as several clubs across the country have officially secured their provincial league titles and booked places in the FAZ National League playoffs for the 2025/26 season.

Teams from all ten provinces have battled throughout the campaign, showing determination, consistency and ambition in their quest to reach the national stage. With provincial honors now confirmed in most regions, attention shifts to the highly anticipated playoffs where clubs will fight for promotion.

In Central Province, Forest Myooye emerged champions after an impressive campaign that saw them dominate the provincial league and prove themselves as one of the strongest sides this season.

On the Copperbelt, Zambezi Portland successfully secured the title, while Mikalile FC were crowned champions in Eastern Province following a strong run of performances.

Lusaka Province champions are Nampundwe, with Mathkat United representing Luapula Province after clinching their league title.

In Northern Province, Mpande Youth Academy sealed qualification, while Solwezi Mush*tala Stars claimed top spot in North Western Province. Southern Province will be represented by Play It Forward, as Barotse Crocs secured the Western Province championship.

However, Muchinga Province remains unresolved and is currently in the hands of the disciplinary committee. The final representative will either be Real Nakonde or Blue Eagles depending on the outcome of the ongoing case.

The confirmed provincial champions are:

🕊️ SAD NEWS: AEROMACCHI FC ASSISTANT COACH SGT SIMWANZA WHITE PASSES AWAY

The football fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the death of FAZ Central Division one Aeromacchi FC First Assistant Coach Sgt Simwanza White, who has succumbed to injuries sustained in a tragic road traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday.

Sgt Simwanza had been admitted to Maina Soko Military Hospital where he remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) battling for his life after suffering multiple skull fractures and a broken clavicle when the Landcruiser they were travelling in lost control and overturned.

The accident had already claimed the life of a ZAF civilian employee, while Aeromacchi FC player Joseph Sililo, who also sustained head injuries, is reported to be stable and recovering well.

Sgt Simwanza White was known for his passion, dedication and energy on the touchline, qualities that made him a respected figure within Aeromacchi FC and the football community at large. His passing is a huge loss not only to the club but also to Zambian football.

Messages of condolences continue to pour in from football fans, players and clubs across the country as many remember his contribution to the game.
