How I Made 1 Million Kwacha in 12 Months — Part 2
Now I wondered. Seriously—I started spiraling in my mind. My Natural Life is a hair care brand I started a couple of years back. It was birthed from a simple desire: to be sure of what I was putting in my own hair. I wanted something I could trust for myself.
Later, I began courageously sharing it with others, and they loved the results. But like many small businesses, it faced challenges. Eventually, it came to a standstill. For two years, I only sold to a small customer base who refused to let it go because they believed in its potency.
It was not a million-kwacha business—far from it. It was something I loved, but I invested poorly, ate the money, and ran it to the ground. But the Holy Spirit saw it differently. He saw from another scale, another perspective—one I just couldn’t see.
I asked, “Holy Spirit? Start all over again? Seriously?”
He firmly said, “Yes. It is your gift. It is who you are. Many people’s confidence will be built through it. Women will embrace their beauty, they will have hope in themselves, and they will see that they are naturally flawless. Even the ones whose self-esteem has been broken will be healed through this. It’s not just products—it’s empowerment, it’s restoration, it’s love in a jar and in some bottles.”
All of this sounded so beautiful. But honestly, I still didn’t see how it would work. Nobody knew this brand anymore. The few who once did had probably forgotten. I wasn’t very courageous—so how would I even put myself out there? And if I tried, who would pay attention? Attention is a currency that people don’t spend lightly.
Even if I did get clients to see the value in what I was offering, wasn’t one million still a stretch?
In His habit of dramatic suspense, after a few silent minutes, He finally said: “I will make it happen.”
My next question was, “Why should I believe You? You say nice things to everyone all the time, and I don’t know if those things ever happen…”
