A great programme isn’t about how many names you can fit onto a page.
We’ve all seen those conference programmes.
Twenty-plus sessions.
A hundred speakers.
A few impressive titles.
And somewhere in the middle, you’re wondering what any of it is actually trying to say. 😅
More isn’t always better.
Sometimes, the strongest programme is the one that knows what not to include.
It’s about looking at the bigger conversation and asking:
What actually needs to be discussed?
Who has something useful to add?
Who brings a perspective that isn’t already in the room?
Which conversations belong together, and which ones don’t?
And how do you create enough space for a conversation to actually go somewhere?
That’s where programme design gets interesting.
Because putting together a conference programme is a little less like making a timetable and a lot more like putting together a good dinner party.
You don't just invite the most impressive people you know.
You think about who will have something to say, who will challenge the conversation, who will bring a different perspective, and whether everyone around the table has a reason to be there.
The goal isn't a full room or a full programme.
It’s a room full of people having a conversation worth being part of.
And honestly, that’s the part we enjoy most.
