SAD:Arakan Girls School pupil takes own life over fears of being a financial burden!
Isabel Funyinya, a Grade 11 pupil at Arakan Girls School, tragically took her own life yesterday after fearing that her long illness was placing too much financial strain on her family.
Shortly before her death, she sent a heartbreaking message to a friend, explaining the depth of her pain and worry.
She revealed that her stomach tumor had worsened, causing internal bleeding and vomiting blood and that her family could no longer afford her medical bills.
In her own words, she wrote:
“I just want to enjoy my life while it lasts. I have a tumor in my stomach which has been growing but the doctors didn’t notice. Now it’s bleeding from the inside and I’m vomiting blood. My dad has no money yet to pay for the bills so I needed to come home. I’ve been a burden to my parents. They don’t need to tell me or show me I can just see it. My dad has been trying to finish his house but because I’m always needing medical attention that isn’t happening. It’s not that I’m posting for attention. Unexpected death hurts more than when you had an idea it was going to happen. I understand my situation and I’ve accepted it, so don’t worry.”
