Location: Makeni – Bonaventure Butchery

Bonaventure Butchery is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance and Administration Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing management with reliable financial reports to support effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers, ensuring all expense and GRV postings are accurate.

Verify and ensure the accuracy of daily SAGE postings (AP, AR, and GL).

Perform customer, supplier, and bank reconciliations.

Manage petty cash, including retirement and postings.

Conduct daily cash-ups and deposit reconciliations.

Facilitate weekly payments and ensure approvals are completed after reconciliations.

Enforce credit control measures to ensure customers remain within 30-day terms.

Compute and file VAT and Withholding Tax returns on time.

Ensure council documentation and compliance submissions are up to date.

Prepare monthly income statements, balance sheets, and weekly sales reports.

Assist with costing, pricing reviews, and revenue analysis.

Maintain and update the fixed asset register.

Support inventory management and month-end stock take preparations.

Facilitate year-end audit preparation and compute the final trial balance.

Oversee branch accounting, including petty cash management, daily reconciliations, and stock take reporting.

Assist with payroll-related matters, such as processing approved salary advances.

Qualifications and Skills

Degree in Accounting (essential).

Registered with ZICA (Licentiate) and/or ACCA Level 2.

Proficient in SAGE Accounting Software.

Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.

Computer literate, with experience in inventory management systems.

Solid understanding of taxation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
