President ED Mnangagwa kicked off National Youth Day 2026 in Igava Marondera, touring exhibition stands and meeting young entrepreneurs and students. He delivered a keynote address, launched the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Vocational Training Centre, and broke ground for a business unit. Over 40,000 people, mostly youth, attended the event. Mashonaland East Province celebrated International Mother Language Day and Gota Nhanga Ixiba Day in Igava. Hosted by Ministry of Sport Recreation Arts and Culture (MOSRAC), the event promoted cultural restoration, led by traditional leaders and female figures, focusing on moral values and responsible living. Ministers Hon Emily Jesaya and Advocate Itayi Ndudzo reaffirmed government's support for the First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa's initiative to combat social issues like drug and substance abuse ,child marriages and moral decay.

National Youth Day Half Marathon kicked off from Rudhaka Stadium at 6:30am all the way to Zama Zama along Mutare Road and back to Rudhaka stadium. Build up to National Youth Day to be held in a few hours at Igava Centre.
