The May 2022 Creative Directors Forum Masterclass was graced by Alistair Carlisle, current Chairman of Barkers Ogilvy with over 58 years of advertising experience. He shared from his vast knowledge and experience working as a creative in Zimbabwe’s advertising industry with the creative directors of accredited agencies.
Carlisle, in his introductory remarks, emphasized why clients are gradually losing respect for creatives. “The quality of work being produced is not at the levels that we used to develop.” As the industry is evolving, creatives are losing sight of the different components that go into making a successful advertisement. Creatives, he said, are more responsive to client demand to get an ad done quickly rather than considering whether the ad leads to brand sustainability and clients want everything yesterday.
"Tell me why I should do business with you?" became the issue of the day. The goal of the masterclass was to share from his experience what it takes to develop effective campaigns....
