Ten years have been passed to social network website, Facebook. It has gained billions of users in all over the world but still there are some interesting things about the social network website you don’t know about them. They are given below;
1.The social network website, Facebook is being used on mobiles at extensive scale then PCs. The reports show that it makes more money from mobiles and tablets than traditional computers. According to the founder this shift of Facebook from PCs to mobile phones is not as quick as it should be.
2.In 2012 Facebook bought photo sharing application, Instagram for $US 1 billion. It was a milestone according to Zuckerberg and in last year it offered $US3 billion for Snapchat but refused.
3.The latest newspaper style application of Facebook is called Paper. It includes shared articles, photos and friend updates in uncluttered way. The content is obtained from right source and shared with others. The successful stories are picked and ordered depending on the likes. The process of storytelling has become more beautiful with wonderful design and full screen.
4.Zuckerberg has stated many goals for himself and for Facebook. The founder of Facebook tried to learn Mandarin (2010), slaughtered himself (2011), learn new things daily (2013) and for 2014 a thank you note every day by email or letter. He told that we always tried to get better and better services to our clients.
5.In 2013, “Vote” was the most common topic among Australian users.
6.In next five years, Zuckerberg wants to make Facebook more powerful and to solve the problems of users. The problems even the users don’t know about. He wants to target the 5% and 10% posts on Facebook in which information of some local dentist or restaurant is enquired. He told that social network should do much better in providing answers of such questions.
7.The users of Facebook log into the website and stay for long time. The percentage of users who log in once a day is 76% and an average user spends nearly 8.3 hours per month.
8.Now the target of Facebook is developing countries in which groups are formed with other companies including Samsung, Qualcomm and Ericsson. The main focus of the group is to simplify services so that they can be delivered economically through wireless networks using cheaper phones. According to the founder, Zuckerberg more and more users in undeveloped countries will subscribe for mobile services with the facility to use Facebook. It makes the use of different services at cheap rates using wireless networks.
9.According to a research from Princeton University it is suggested that Facebook might lose 80% of the users in 2017 which would be a rapid decline. Data engineers of Facebook try to work to get better and better results proving that Princeton was on the brink of extinction.
10.No doubt Facebook is the most popular website and king of social referred traffic. It is also true that it is losing ground due to other partners such as Pinterest and Twitter.
