We're a team of people who have worked together on various multimedia production projects over the past years — and we have enjoyed working with each other so much so that we started our own company. Each of us will properly introduce themselves and will share their personal story soon; for now we'll describe ourselves in first-person plural.
Personally, every one of us always wanted to work for the viewer: we enjoy surprising and entertaining other people in unconventional ways, immersing them into stories. However, over time we realized that if we were to remain on the production side of the communications market, we'll stay far too distant and isolated from our viewer: there's a brand that hires an agency that hires a production company, and this chain of intermediaries is something that troubled us.
This traditional setup also means that not only we lose connection with the viewer, as we have only a vague idea of what they want — we also lose touch with the brand and its business goals which it's achieving through experiential marketing. This idea (a very simple one, in retrospective) led to establishing a different kind of company.
Avocado Toast is a partner in accomplishing business goals with experiential: by telling stories through spaces and tech. We work with brands and agencies on creating offline communications from scratch and adapting existing 360º campaigns for offline and live setups. Our creative team features a rare combination of communicators in the broadest possible sense of the word — marketers, strategists, copywriters, art directors, creative directors, designers — and creators of immersive environments: directors, playwrights, production designers, technicians, engineers.
This combination enables us to create extremely vivid communication, based exclusively on business goals, audience insights and communication strategy.
We believe that experiential marketing becomes more and more interesting for brands, as people begin to look for new experiences and new ways to see different realities. The viewer's attention is now not only in digital and mobile: the evolution of technology enables unprecedented ways to glue digital with offline.
Where we really excel is the intersection of a) the brands' needs to tell about their products and services to achieve their goals, and b) the fundamental, basic inclination of the audiences to be entertained and experience something new, without being interrupted by ads. We carefully package the information from the brands into entertaining and impressive formats for the viewers.
We're not just waiting for an infinite seamless communication experience for the viewer to somehow happen — rather, we're working to make it happen sooner. Imagine a single cohesive narrative in a brand's world told through digital, VR, escape rooms, live events, and films, in which the viewer directly influences the story without being distracted by direct advertising. At Avocado Toast we aim to create just that.
We work worldwide, thanks to our large network of partners and collaborators from which we draw the strongest teams — assembling an individual crew for each project. We don't want to limit ourselves to a particular technological or business niche. Instead, we're constantly learning how to do new things: from CG production to manufacturing stage sets, from software for tangible interactions to theatre performances.
To be truly global indeed and to get all-round experience for ourselves, we launched Avocado Toast simultaneously in four cities — Los Angeles, Moscow, London and Shanghai.
