We are thrilled to share our latest collaboration for the inaugural Urban Revivo fashion show in Shanghai! Working alongside the Activation Group agency, we had an opportunity to create the overall concept and set design for this remarkable event.

Drawing inspiration from the collection's minimalist aesthetic and the urbanistic architecture of TANK U Shanghai, we aimed to capture the essence of precision and geometry through our lighting scenarios. To bring our vision to life, we joined forces with SETUP Design studio and crafted a truly unique set design that transformed the catwalk into a mesmerizing canvas.

Event design and grand opening show for World of Tanks, showcasing updates and new features for both live guests and online viewers. The event celebrated the game's 10th anniversary, incorporating game elements and industrial aesthetics to immerse attendees in the tank-themed world. Five years of extraordinary projects, unforgettable encounters, and collaborations with talented professionals!

The first time you raised your eyes up to the enticing lights of a faraway sky, how distant did it feel?

In collaboration with Bompas & Parr we have created an interactive Planet-Tynium, an Astrology Experience as part of the AlUla Skies festival and brought the universe much, much closer than light-years away. Each one of us is a stardust snapshot taken the moment we were born, so we created a space where anyone could experience their unique journey from atoms and molecules to the farthest horizons of the universe.

The compact nature of the planetarium allowed for an intimate experience for every visitor, and a pendant with a unique engraving of their birth constellation and date served a memento of this special visit.

We are happy to announce that Avocado Toast emerged as the winner at Eventex Awards 2023, the world’s most celebrated award for events and experience marketing!

Avocado Toast received remarkable recognition for its outstanding contributions to the event industry — a national celebration of the 100th anniversary of Izmir Liberation, the show we did together with Imagina Prodactions has been recognized in three categories and got Gold as the best Cultural Event and for the best Utilization of special effects, and Silver in the Public Events category! What a huge win for a show that had 2,000,000 viewers live!

And our series of Incense Road Suppers in AlUla we collaborated with Bompas & Parr has won Silver for how we used Immersive Technology, and Bronze for the outstanding Event Design

We want to thank our team, partners, and everyone who made this outstanding success possible.

As the light is one of the main tools when we create life shows on this day, International Day of Light, we asked a lighting designer Vlad Oblasov to talk about his work and the impact of the phenomenon of light on human perception.

"I finally got my thoughts together; and to answer the question of what light is, I’ll quote the pioneer of lighting design, Richard Kelly: “True visual beauty is the interplay of three kinds of light.”.

Kelly formulated the three base principles of lighting design, which sound quite simple: washing surfaces, highlighting objects, and creating sharp detail.

The logic is that if these three layers are present, then any space will look appealing. “Ambient luminescence", is general fill light, which helps people orient themselves in space; "focal glow" is accent light, which shows detail, controls and directs attention. And "play of brilliants" is decorative light that leaves a lasting impression and sharpens emotions.

The combination of all three creates interplay that can also be interpreted as interaction and interconnection. In my mind, light is a way for us to engage with our environment. The way the lighting scene is set up shapes how a person perceives space: a room, a building, a city, and so on.

Here, the designer plays the role of an interpreter or, perhaps, a tour guide – someone who can help you have a pleasant experience walking through this world. Because creating a quality light environment is about physical and psycho-emotional health and people entering this industry must be willing to take on the responsibility.

A lighting designer is also an artist and light is an invisible tool, painting everything around us. The quality of this stroke, the movement determines what a person sees, and what emotion a person feels. It turns out that the designer is a rather unique mix of technical skill and creativity, and that requires a versatile perception of the world.

Growth takes time, practice makes perfect and learning never stops, it turns out. It's now been a solid 15 years in the world of experiential design for me; about a third of that time was spent making Avocado Toast the prime (if I do say so myself) creation that it is today, and the decade before that was a roller coaster of unforgettable projects.

I spent those years exploring my interests and forming my values, before plunging headfirst into creating something of my own. From where I stand now, that seems to have been a good decision. The whole journey has been filled with a wild mix of cultures, people, and backgrounds. International work is not only a core value for me, but an endless source of inspiration, and a way for us to integrate collective experiences into our work.

Yet, all that would be nothing without a solid team bringing those notions to life. The concept of “workplace hierarchy” doesn’t sit well with me, and approaching any project as a collaboration between all team members has always seemed more exciting.
I mean, when you have a group of extremely talented and seasoned professionals, who are always ready to cooperate, share the good, the bad, and the beautiful, introducing rigid structures would simply… stunt the progress.

Setting world records, curating dozens of technologically ground-breaking projects and solving the unsolvable - it’s momentum we are riding, and a collective wave I hope to continue to be a part of.

Experiential design is a collaboration between art and science, addressing our 5 physical senses, aiming for emotional impact.

With the interactive multimedia exhibition at the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center the aim was a little different. Here, we had to showcase real-world positive impact the three Microsoft clients managed to create.

By the time you finish reading this sentence, one of Microsoft's corporate clients will already have saved more than 3 million liters of water worldwide. That volume is impossible to recreate, even for Avocado Toast, so we took a different route: we created an infinity room with screen and mirror walls, calculated the precise amount of water, and let the digital rain fall down, creating a 360º immersive and interactive experience.

There are few projects that can provide you with a never-ending source of mildly amusing facts, jokes, and anecdotes. Even fewer can do so with a topic related to this date.

Formally put, 4/20 refers to cannabis-oriented celebrations that take place annually on April 20. So it only seemed fitting to shine a light on a boundary-pushing project where researchers and historians worked together with the Avocado Toast team to create understandable, informative and memorable interactive exhibits for quite an unusual museum: a visitors center for a cannabis manufacturing company.

The process of designing a set requires transforming intangible ideas into tangible structures.

That means adapting even the most exciting concepts to the realities and limitations of a physical space.

Our initial idea had to mutate and transform to keep its original message and become a finalized concept ready for realization. The priority was to reflect the topic of decentralization throughout the whole event storytelling, and we chose to introduce off-center physical elements on stage to bring this concept to life.

For Avocado Toast, this project was about combining many mediums to deliver a specific message and feeling: a center is not restricted to geometry, geography, or magnitude. Any location can be a center, which means that anyone has the potential to become one themselves.

Hello. We're Avocado Toast

And we call ourselves an immersive communications partner.

We're a team of people who have worked together on various multimedia production projects over the past years — and we have enjoyed working with each other so much so that we started our own company. Each of us will properly introduce themselves and will share their personal story soon; for now we'll describe ourselves in first-person plural.

Personally, every one of us always wanted to work for the viewer: we enjoy surprising and entertaining other people in unconventional ways, immersing them into stories. However, over time we realized that if we were to remain on the production side of the communications market, we'll stay far too distant and isolated from our viewer: there's a brand that hires an agency that hires a production company, and this chain of intermediaries is something that troubled us.

This traditional setup also means that not only we lose connection with the viewer, as we have only a vague idea of what they want — we also lose touch with the brand and its business goals which it's achieving through experiential marketing. This idea (a very simple one, in retrospective) led to establishing a different kind of company.
