Our annual Saudi Issue turns its focus to a generation coming of age alongside the Kingdom’s cultural transformation. Raised in a rapidly evolving Saudi Arabia, podcaster , actress and footballer are each carving out new spaces for young women across media, cinema and sport.
At just 15, Alshehri has built a platform where young girls can openly discuss confidence, creativity and self-expression.
“People underestimate my age group,” says the youngest TED× host in history, and the youngest Saudi and Arab podcaster.
“They reduce us to stereotypes when, in fact, there’s so much depth to who we are.”
For Faden, whose breakout role in Hijra brought Saudi storytelling to international screens, acting has always felt instinctive. “I’ve always wanted to act with my eyes,” she shares,
“to convey an entire emotional world through a glance.”
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Mohammad - who was named Best Young Player in the Saudi Women’s Premier League - is helping shape a new era for women’s sport in the Kingdom. “If girls are shown that a dream is real from the beginning, they can build towards it with confidence,” she says.
