Polish-Emirati Partnership Secures USD 1 Billion Green Ammonia Project in Jordan

A consortium comprising Polish and Emirati partners signed an investment agreement with Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to develop a large-scale green ammonia production facility in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, with a total investment value of approximately USD 1 billion.

The project will integrate around 550 MW of dedicated solar power generation and a 500 MWh battery energy storage system to support green hydrogen production via electrolysis. The hydrogen will be converted into green ammonia for export, with an expected annual production capacity of around 100,000 tonnes.

The initiative aligns with Jordan’s long-term strategy to develop green hydrogen and derivative fuels as part of its broader economic modernization and industrial diversification agenda, positioning Aqaba as a key hub for low-carbon fuel production and export.

The project involves the development of multiple civic quarter buildings designed to provide operational, administrative, and public safety infrastructure across the expanding Diriyah Gate masterplan. The scope includes office buildings, civil defence facilities, a police station, a post office, a traffic police station, and the Diriyah operations centre.

Located on the outskirts of Riyadh and centred around the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif, the wider Diriyah development continues to witness major construction activity across hospitality, residential, retail, cultural, and infrastructure components designed around traditional Najdi architectural principles.

USD 566 Million Copper Processing Complex Planned at Dammam Port

Hailiang Group and Rawas National Investment Holding signed an agreement to develop a large-scale copper materials processing complex at Dammam Port, marking a major addition to Saudi Arabia’s expanding industrial manufacturing and metals processing sector.

The project, valued at approximately USD 566 million, aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader industrial diversification strategy under Vision 2030 and is planned to strengthen downstream manufacturing capabilities while positioning the Kingdom as a regional manufacturing and export hub.

EV & Battery Manufacturing Plant Planned in Duqm

The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) signed an investment usufruct agreement with EL B&T to develop a large-scale electric vehicle (EV) and battery cell manufacturing plant within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD), marking a major step in Oman’s industrial diversification and clean mobility manufacturing strategy.

The project will be implemented in two phases and is planned to support Oman’s efforts to expand advanced manufacturing capabilities beyond the hydrocarbons sector while strengthening Duqm’s position as a regional industrial and export hub.

Upon full completion, the facility is expected to achieve annual production capacity of up to 60,000 electric vehicles and approximately 1.6 million battery cells. The project is planned to manufacture a broad range of electric mobility products, including passenger vehicles, motorcycles, three-wheelers, buses, trucks, and associated electric powertrain systems and components.
