If your social account doesn’t is not growing, this could be why?

One of the biggest problems I see is that people start their Instagram accounts without understanding who they want to target therefore their content is not resonating with anyone.

It used to take me 8+ hours to create 1 piece of content now it takes me 2 hours. I have stopped overthinking content and only sharing the things I know. And I listen to my audience. I currently have 2 weeks worth of content created and can now enjoy time with the kids without stressing.

But how did I get here:

1️⃣ I use Notion to collect all my ideas and also to create a contact calendar. I have the app on my phone.

2️⃣ I don't overthink my content. A lot of my ideas come to everyday life (thanks Dan).

3️⃣ I share content of things that I know and from my experience, making it easier for me to create.

4️⃣ I create content in my high energy days Sundays and Mondays in the morning.

5️⃣ I don't only rely on carousels and now use single posts.

6️⃣ I research all my content ideas on the weekend therefore, the week before I know what I'm going to create, which makes it easier.

I started taking Instagram seriously in May during the lockdown. Probably one of the worst time to do it with kids home but I wanted something productive to do rather than play Sims and burn money. 🙈

My growth has been a lot slower due to several reasons:

1️⃣ I don’t post every day but every other day

2️⃣ I can’t engage 8 + hours consistently

3️⃣ I was not using a consistent theme

4️⃣ I was not listening to my audience

5️⃣ I burned out halfway through stopped engaging a lot 🙈

6️⃣ Not showing my face in stories

Now for my journey 2000 to 3000:

1️⃣ I plan to focus more on building a valuable community

2️⃣ Developing a course

3️⃣ Focus on SFY & Explore

4️⃣ Engage strategically

So what are the three types of traffic:

Pay traffic is traffic we should use to target prospective customers or previous customers. Those who click these links tend to have a high intent to buy. Also, use paid traffic to re-target customers.

Owned traffic this is your content marketing efforts. It should be used to build relationships, therefore provide value and not only push sales.

Earned traffic comes from your fans; this is the traffic that we all should expire to get. It comes from providing a fantastic product and excellent customer service.

By combining all three, it will increase your chances of you having an effective marketing campaign. For example, if you are selling an e-book and you've created content for it, and that particular content does well on your social media channel then you can pay to boost it and also when someone buys it ask them for a review. You can easily adapt your content to suit different traffic types.

Now is the time to tell everyone about that fantastic product.

You have already done a great job at the pre-launch stage. So now you need to tell everyone the product is currently out. Share the news with all your network, your subscribers, your followers and influencers.

Keep up the momentum keep talking about it, do this across to 7 days. One of the most important things about the launch is to continue to share feedback and the number of people who have purchased the product.

There is a number of different emails you can use to continue to build relationships and trust with your subscribers.

I have chosen these 6 types to focus on.

1️⃣ New product launch this could be an ebook, new course etc. This email is to inform your subscribers something new is coming.

2️⃣ Re-engagement emails. It’s natural for your subscribers to forget about you. But you must not forget about them. So you should send them the email to remind them you still exist and tell what has happened since they’ve been gone.

3️⃣ Abandonment emails. These emails are powerful, when we had an e-commerce store, we used them all the time, and they worked so well. Just remind the customer that they have left something in their basket and you will hold on to it for a certain period.

4️⃣ Personal email. You don’t always need to be a robot so send them something personal like a thought of a day.

5️⃣ Final warning if you just launched a new product then tell your subscribers that the price is only available for a limited time. Then send them an email when time is nearly up.

6️⃣ Offer something of value just like you do with your Instagram posts.

There are many different customer journeys funnels you can use. I like to use the customer journey lifetime funnel.

Which is made up of eight stages:

1️⃣ Awareness - This is where customer learns about your services

2️⃣ Engage - This is where they're interested in what you provide and want to know more information.

3️⃣ Subscribe - At this is the point where they are not ready to spend money, and they're still warming up to you. So you can provide them with a free lead magnet or a free trial.

4️⃣ Convert - This is the point when you try to convert the subscriber. So at this point, you ask for feedback and try to schedule a discovery call.

5️⃣ Excite - This is where they actually excited about the service you provide, and they begin to trust you.

6️⃣ Ascend - This is were they reach Aha moment, and they are ready to buy from you. At this stage, you can also take advantage of upselling.

7️⃣ Advocate - This is where the customer is absolutely happy with everything you have provided and they recommend you to their network.

8️⃣ Promoter - This is where your customer has purchased a lot of services from you, and they continue to recommend you on all the social media platforms, in their emails and everyone they talk to, this is your loyal fan.

You won't just have one customer journey you need to create more as some customers with a start at different entry points. Also, remember not all of them will buy.

I'm obsessed with metrics I like to look at them to understand what's working and what's not. This allows me to actually understand how my content is performing in relation to my goals.

When growing on Instagram, one of the key things to remember is to listen to your audience, so by looking at your metrics, it allows you to identify patterns.

I have created an Excel spreadsheet to monitor my performance on Excel and therefore, I can have a clear comparison and play with the data as much as I want.

The first brand that comes to mind for me is Nike. There tagline, Just do it! Is very motivational.

Taglines don't need to be too complicated that's not the reason behind them they need to evoke an emotion, be memorable positive, and upbeat.

Don't try to be all just think about how you want your customers to picture you.
