We have been in dialogue with some medical practitioners in the country, primarily those who have a high percentage of senior patients. Some of these patients,we have been informed, use the taxi service and other financially constraining means to visit the doctor and the Medical Benefits Pharmacy. Other persons do not have the time to spare to visit the pharmacy; and also do not have anyone who is dependable enough to send on their behalf. Another challenge experience by beneficiaries is that the particular pharmacy that they visit, does not have the medication, thus they have to try another one which can compound an already challenging situation. By using Door Meds Service customers can be assured of efficient, on time delivery of medical supplies and elimination of the commute to and from the pharmacies. Door Meds is a pilot programme of Dash Courier Services and the primary function is the delivery of pharmaceutical supplies. The general concept includes the collection of prescriptions from the customer and going to Medical Benefits Pharmacy to have these prescriptions filled on behalf of the customer. We then deliver the pharmaceuticals to the customer at home or at work.
