The 3 questions you MUST answer before sending a single cold email 👇
Most cold emails fail before they’re even sent.
It’s because the sender hasn’t answered these 3 simple (but critical) questions:
1. How are you going to send the email?
My recommendations:
→ Never use your main domain
→ Never use mailchimp for cold email
→ Use Smartlead or Instantly instead
→ 2 inboxes per domain max
→ Warm up for 2-3 weeks
→ Send 15-20 emails/mailbox
If you skip this, expect your emails to land in spam (or not get delivered at all.)
2. Who are you sending it to?
My recommendations:
→ Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Apollo
→ Keep a tight ICP (less then 2,5k leads/list)
→ Always verify the emails (I use Icypeas for this)
→ Build the list based on intent, role and pain points
Spray-and-pray lists = trash results.
3. What will you say?
My recommendations:
→ Get straight to the point
→ Avoid saying 'I hope this email finds you well'
→ Keep your email less than 100 words
→ Show proof/one sentence case study
→ Relevancy > personalization
Stick to this framework:
• Why you’re reaching out
• What you help with
• Who you’ve helped
• Ask if they want to talk
Without clear answers to these 3, don’t bother hitting “send.”
