Being part of the .albania program gave me the opportunity to experience a truly transformative journey in Washington, D.C. and Harvard.
During our visit to Capitol Hill, we had the opportunity to meet with congressional offices and representatives connected to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where we discussed international relations, policymaking, regional developments, and Albania’s perspective in today’s global context.
Seeing up close how American institutions function, how foreign policy is shaped, and how representation, responsibility, and decision-making come together was an incredibly valuable experience. Each meeting left me with an important reflection: true leadership begins where listening becomes responsibility, vision turns into decision making, and experience is placed in service of people.
Another meaningful moment of this journey was the conference at American Councils with Dr. Ruth Gotian and Andy Lopata, focused on public speaking, leadership, professional relationships, and the habits that shape high achievers. Their messages were a powerful reminder that success is built through consistency, curiosity, trust, meaningful relationships, and the courage to communicate with clarity and purpose.
This experience made me appreciate even more the role of public institutions and the professional journey I am building in Albania. It strengthened my belief that young leaders have an important role to play in shaping the future of our country.
