There is no age to
transforming reality
Believing that because we have reached a certain age, all is lost, it is too late to do certain things. Studying something we are passionate about, learning something new, listening to a different point of view, that wanting to change the world "is no longer my turn, I can't do anything". This is a bit of what is rethinking with this book, which I had the pleasure of illustrated.
Having to put in the spotlight, as protagonists, people who were born in another era and who had another education / situation where they forged what they are today, and that instead of using that as an excuse, they use it as a power and really claim that there is no age to transform reality, that it is never too late, excites and inspires me.
Drawing wrinkles, gray hair, dark circles under the eyes, canes, human "imperfections" that even in progressive illustrations do not appear. When I have to sit down to draw, my reference images about activism do not usually take these things into account, because it seems that they are characteristics that do not go "so much hand in hand" with doing, moving, wanting (or continuing) to break structures, why?
The phrase "In my time" should denote experience, but not a pause, a dissociation of everything that can be done today. For me it was a beautiful challenge to make this cover.
